Traffic Officer. When an employee is assigned to do work underneath the main span of the Bridge or approaches (being from and including pier L in Canada to and including pier C in the he shall be paid a premium amounting to one dollar and cents ($1.69) per hour for all time worked on such assignment in addition to his regular hourly rate of pay. Any employee required to perform work that requires scaffolds or ladders to heights of five feet (25') or more shall receive one dollar and sixty nine cents ($1.69) per hour premium. This premium pay is excluded when using the electrical truck or similar apparatus. When a permanent employee is temporarily assigned to a job classification and there is a difference in the rate of pay between that job classification and his regular job classification, he shall be paid the higher of the two rates during such temporary assignment. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime or premium pay. An employee assigned to work and who accepts the position of Lead Hand will be paid a premium of two dollars ($2.00) per hour above their regular rate of pay. An employee assigned to work as Acting Supervisor will be paid a premium of three dollars ($3.00) per hour above their regular rate of pay. When a traffic or janitorial employee works between the hours of and AM, they will be paid a shift differential of of their base wage per hour. When traffic or janitorial employee works between the hours of AM and AM, they will be paid a shift differential of of their base wage per hour. A shift differential is a premium and will not form part of the basic pay rate. When a maintenance employee works between the hours of and they will be paid a shift differential of of their base wage per hour. When a maintenance employee works between the hours of and AM, they will be paid a shift differential of of their base wage per hour. A shift differential is a premium and will not form part of the basic pay rate. When a non-tradesperson performs the work of a tradesperson, he or she will be paid a premium amounting to one dollar ($1.00) per hour for all time worked in addition to their regular hourly rate of pay. Traffic Officer. The Traffic Officer shall receive thirteen (13%) percent of his/her salary as supplementary compensation to be paid in twelve 12 monthly installments. The Traffic Officer shall be on call twenty-four (24) hours per day 365 days per year. The Traffic Officer shall work four (4) high incidence holidays as determined by the Chief and shall be compensated with a day off from his preceding or succeeding shift. Nothing herein shall restrict the Traffic Officer’s ability to utilize vacation, personal, compensatory or sick time. The Traffic Officer will not be on call if he/she is utilizing any of the above earned time off unless by mutual agreement with the Chief. The parties agree to the restructuring of the Detectives supplementary compensation to provide for the inclusion in the Detective’s base salary in amount sufficient to permit the computation and accrual of pension benefits parallel to pension benefits received by a uniform officer of similar rank. Supplementary compensation shall only be paid to employees who are employed full time as Detective Sergeant, Detective or Traffic Officers so that if any employee for whatever reason was no longer serving in that title, he/she is no longer eligible to receive supplementary compensation.
Traffic Officer. The employee assigned to serve as Traffic Officer shall receive a salary increase of five percent (5%) during the time in which s/he is performing said duties and responsibilities. Pay under this category is not considered special compensation and is therefore not PERSable.
