Union Leave/Business. Any employee of the City who may be elected to or appointed to office in the Local Union that will require him to absent himself from duty to the Employer shall upon leaving that office be reinstated to his former position, including all his seniority rights, providing that he is then physically qualified to return to work. It is understood that in case of return of such an employee, other employees will consent to such demotions as are necessary to make room for him. Seniority rights shall continue if an employee is elected or appointed to a Union Office in the Local Union. The Union representatives shall be granted reasonable release time off from duty at the straight time rate to investigate and process grievances. Local Union representatives shall be allowed time off without pay for legitimate Union business such as Union meetings, State or area wide Union committee meetings, State or International conventions, provided such representatives shall give reasonable notice to their supervisor of such absence and it does not affect the operating needs of the utility. Union representatives shall be allowed reasonable time off without pay for preparation for contract negotiations. Union Representatives shall be allowed time off with pay at the straight time rate during regular working hours for contract negotiating sessions with the employer . A maximum number of two (2) employees will be released from duty with pay at any one time for the purpose of contract negotiations. The employee may utilize any accumulated time (compensatory time, personal, vacation days) in lieu of taking such leave without pay. Such time off shall not be detrimental in any way to the employee's record, or affect the employee's sick time bonus.

Union Leave/Business. (a) An employee who is elected for a full-time position with the Union or any body with which the Union is affiliated shall be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of accumulation of seniority for the term of such office. Such leave may be renewed for a subsequent term upon request made during such term of office.
Union Leave/Business. I – 1 Leave of absence for Union business shall be given up to an aggregate maximum of fifty (50) working days during any calendar year. The Union Executive will endeavour to provide the dates requested before the affected schedule is posted.   • Unpaid Leave - Union Business (a) Short-term leave of absence without pay to a maximum of fourteen (14) days at one time shall be granted to employees designated by the Union to transact Union business including conventions and conferences unless this would unduly interrupt the operation of the department provided, however, that these designated employees shall be paid by the Employer for time lost in attending meetings during working hours whenever their attendance is requested by the Employer. The Union shall give reasonable notice to minimize disruption of the department and the Union shall make every effort to give a minimum of seven (7) days' notice.

The cumulative total leave of absence will be determined locally, but shall not exceed forty (40) days per year per hospital.   • Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Participation Pursuant to Education Code section 71028 and Public Contract Code section 10115, the District may have a participation goal for disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) of at least three (3) percent per year of funds expended each year by the District on projects that use funds from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. This Project may use funds allocated under the Act. Therefore, to the extent feasible and pertaining to future hirings, the Consultant, before it executes the Agreement, shall provide to the District certification of compliance with the procedures for implementation of DVBE contracting goals, appropriate documentation identifying the amount(s) intended to be paid to DVBEs in conjunction with the contract, and documentation demonstrating the Consultant’s good faith efforts to meet these goals.

  • Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises This section is applicable if Contractor received a disabled veteran business enterprise (“DVBE”) incentive in connection with this Agreement. Contractor’s failure to meet the DVBE commitment set forth in its bid or proposal constitutes a breach of the Agreement. If Contractor used DVBE subcontractor(s) in connection with this Agreement: (i) Contractor must use the DVBE subcontractors identified in its bid or proposal, unless the Judicial Council approves in writing replacement by another DVBE subcontractor in accordance with the terms of this Agreement; and (ii) Contractor must within sixty (60) days of receiving final payment under this Agreement certify in a report to the Judicial Council: (1) the total amount of money Contractor received under the Agreement; (2) the name and address of each DVBE subcontractor to which Contractor subcontracted work in connection with the Agreement; (3) the amount each DVBE subcontractor received from Contractor in connection with the Agreement; and (4) that all payments under the Agreement have been made to the applicable DVBE subcontractors. A person or entity that knowingly provides false information shall be subject to a civil penalty for each violation.

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE - UNION BUSINESS 11.08.01 Employees who have been elected or appointed to carry out business authorized by the Union on a full-time basis shall be granted a Leave of Absence for this purpose. The Union will advise the Company of the name(s) of such employee(s), the term of such leave, and the specific purpose. The Union shall repay the Company for the Company's costs incurred in Employee Benefit Plans and the employee(s) shall continue to pay their contributions directly to the Company. The Company shall provide such employees with free and reduced-rate transportation in accordance with Company regulations. Such employees shall continue to accrue seniority and service while on leave of absence.

  • Leave for Union Business The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Union to attend Union business including conferences, conventions and Provincial Committee meetings and to any nurse elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator. The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any time from one area and the number of days (including those of the Local Co-ordinator) is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. During such leave of absence, a nurse's salary and applicable benefits or percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the full-time nurse or in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits of a part-time nurse except for Provincial Committee meetings which will be reimbursed by the Union. The Hospital will xxxx the local Union within a reasonable period of time. Part-time nurses will receive service and seniority credit for all leaves granted under this Article.
