Vacation Pay Out. Should a member be denied the use of vacation leave after making more than one good-faith attempt to schedule all available vacation leave prior to the end of the payroll year, the hours unused above the applicable maximum accrual rate will automatically be converted into paid compensation at the rate of the pay in effect in the pay period immediately preceding the end of the payroll year, and will be included in the first paycheck immediately following the end of the payroll year.
