Volunteering for Layoff. Employees wishing to volunteer for layoff ahead of less senior employees may submit a request in writing to their supervisor, with a copy to the Union, to receive consideration for a voluntary layoff under the following conditions:

Volunteering for Layoff. Employees may volunteer to be laid off or request to exercise other layoff alternatives (e.g. leaves of absence without pay, reduction of hours, job sharing, etc). If there are more volunteers than affected employees, the most senior volunteer(s), will have first choice. Employees who volunteer for layoff will be laid off in lieu of the affected employee and may opt for recall rights. Layoff alternatives will be at the determination of the Appointing Authority.
Volunteering for Layoff. Prior to providing written notice to employees in positions identified for layoff pursuant to Article 16.6, the City shall seek volunteers for layoff from among those employees who work in the job classification(s) identified for reduction of positions. The request for volunteers for layoff shall be posted for five (5) business days. If there are more employees who volunteer for layoff than employees in positions to be eliminated, layoffs will occur among those employees who volunteered based on total City seniority in descending order. Employees who volunteer for layoff retain recall rights as described in Section 16.8 but are not eligible to select among layoff options. The City and Union may collaborate on an incentive program to encourage volunteers for layoff.

  • Volunteer Agreement I understand that my services are donated to Mayo Clinic Health System without promise, expectation, or receipt of compensation or future employment. I also understand that volunteering should not be viewed as a means of obtaining permanent employment at Mayo Clinic Health System. The Contractor will be responsible for responding to and resolving all claims for access to Contract-related materials it has designated trade secret or otherwise confidential.

  • Volunteer Leave Subject to operational requirements as determined by the Employer and with an advance notice of at least five (5) working days, the employee shall be granted, in each fiscal year, one (1) day of leave with pay to work as a volunteer for a charitable or community organization or activity, other than for activities related to the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign. The leave will be scheduled at times convenient both to the employee and the Employer. Under no circumstances shall there be carry-over of such leave to another fiscal year.
