Starting Rates. Each employee who enters the service of the Company shall begin employment at the Start Rate for the appropriate job title, except that appropriate allowance over such starting rate may be made by the Company for an employee who has had previous experience or training considered to be of value. When employees who have no prior training or experience are hired at a start rate that is higher than incumbents in the same title and work location, the wage rate of incumbents in that title and work location will be raised to the same rate of pay as the new hire.
Starting Rates. A. Except as provided in "B" of this Section, a person engaged to work in one of the titles listed in Appendix A, Part I, shall receive the rate designated "Start" on the progression wage scale for his/her title in the appropriate schedule for his/her location as shown in Appendix B, Part I.
Starting Rates. (a) If business conditions require, or when employee's qualifications (in the judgment of the Company) justify starting rates higher than the minimum, such higher rates may be granted. Such starting rates will be granted based on the Company's non-management employee starting wage policy which following prescribed guidelines includes wage credit for job related work or military experience, job-related training or job-related skills, licenses or certificates. In no case shall an employee be paid less than the starting rate on the wage schedule applicable to the employee's title.
Starting Rates. (i) Employees entering the service prior to March 1, 1988, are subject to the rates of pay and the rules and practices related thereto. Employees entering the service as Apprentices or Trainee Mechanics will be compensated in accordance with the provisions of this paragraph (i).
Starting Rates. 23.1 Attached as Appendix X of the Collective Agreement is a wage scale depicting the clerical wage levels and examples of basic job rates.
Starting Rates. (1) Starting rates for new employees who commence work in a Trainperson/Yardperson position on or subsequent to January 1, 2015, will be 95% of job rate, with job rate attained after 7 months of such cumulative compensated service. Effective January 1, 2015, all trainees will be at a minimum of 95% of the job rate.
Starting Rates. Managers may appoint based on previous experience, the principles of equal pay/pay equity, availability of labour within the market, and taking into account internal relativities.

The Company shall have the right to determine the starting rate of each employee and shall assign wage credit as it feels proper according to the background of the individual being employed. As the proficiency of an employee is evaluated by the Company, the rate of pay may be adjusted upward or downward accordingly.
Starting Rates. Employees newly hired during the term of this Agreement shall be paid no less than the regular straight-time hourly rate for Step 1 of the Labor Grade to which they are assigned. Notwithstanding any provision of this Agreement, including Appendix A, to the contrary, no Employee shall receive an increase in pay or move from one Step to another prior to successfully completing six (6) consecutive months worked. The parties agree to review the Town’s practice with regard to the initial step placement of new employees for the purpose of determining any inequities and to address such inequities with regard to future placements.
Starting Rates. It is agreed that the applicants for a job will be hired at or above the beginning rates specified in the job classification. Exceptions to hiring at the beginning rate may be made when the qualifications of an applicant warrant a higher starting rate because of prior training or experience. Such hiring rates shall be determined by the Hospital.
