Use of Volunteers. The School covenants and represents that all volunteers it allows access to its students or the Facility will comply with state regulations regarding the use of volunteers set out in Section 6.50.18
Use of Volunteers. The parties agree that volunteers provide a valuable resource to the County. Use of volunteers is to supplement and assist paid staff, not to replace, supervise or manage them.
Use of Volunteers. 15.12.1 The District will not utilize volunteers in lieu of classified employees who are laid off or reduced in hours.
Use of Volunteers. 18:11.1 Volunteers shall not be used to replace bargaining unit employees but may be used to perform tasks associated with special projects and/or activities. Where the use of volunteers becomes excessive, the Board and the Union shall meet in order to discuss the roles and responsibilities of volunteers within the District.
Use of Volunteers. The Contractor shall obtain the written approval of the County prior to allowing any volunteers to perform construction work on a project assisted under this Contract.
Use of Volunteers. No volunteer program shall have the effect of displacing any county employee. The County shall meet with the Union to discuss any Countywide volunteer program before implementing such a program.
Use of Volunteers. 47.01 No volunteer shall perform the duties of a position which has been eliminated from the Bargaining Unit.
47.02 No member of the Bargaining Unit on probationary or permanent staff shall be laid off or suffer reduction of or a change in normally scheduled hours of work as a result of the use of volunteers.
47.03 If volunteers assist in the school, in the classroom where the Educational Assistant is assigned, the Classroom Teacher and the Special Education Support Teacher, in consultation with the Principal will discuss the assignment of tasks with the volunteer and the Educational Assistant if applicable.
47.04 The use of volunteers shall not be a substitute for additional educational assistant staff.
47.05 Volunteers shall not be used during legal strike or lockout to perform the duties of striking or locked out employees.
Use of Volunteers. The District shall not use any volunteers to displace any classified employees.
Use of Volunteers. The parties recognize the positive and substantial support provided by dedicated volunteers. However, in consideration of the employees’ concern that the use of volunteers should not take away from, replace or reduce bargaining unit employment, the Board and the Union hereby agree to the following process for monitoring and evaluating the use of volunteers in the context of bargaining unit employment.
Use of Volunteers. The parties agree that volunteers are not a substitute for additional secretarial staff in the office or for the replacement of secretarial staff in the case of absence. If volunteers are to assist in the school office, it is inappropriate for them to have access to the Ontario Student Records (OSR) cards, xxxxx cash, and confidential information covered by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The Principal, in consultation with the school secretary, will review the list of acceptable tasks to be assigned to the volunteer. Acceptable tasks shall include, but not limited to: - supporting the organization of in-school fund-raising events - safe arrival checks If volunteers are answering the school telephone, it is essential that the person identifies to the caller that a volunteer is answering the phone. Where there is a concern over the volunteer’s activities that may impact on bargaining unit work, the President will contact the Executive Officer, Human Resources. The Executive Officer, Human Resources will convene a meeting with representatives from the work site and appropriate administrative staff in order to attempt to alleviate the concern.
