Female employees are entitled to sick leave during the period they are unable to perform regular duties due to pregnancy and subsequent recovery. In cases of personal illness or injury, employees shall be granted the following sick leave allocations. Accumulative Benefits. All employees shall be provided sick leave benefits as set forth in Iowa Code Section 279.40. Employees hired prior to the commencement of the school year shall be entitled to ten (10) sick leave days as of the first official day of said school year even though they are unable to report for duty on that day due to physical or mental illness. Employees who are hired and who begin work after commencement of the school year shall receive sick leave benefits prorated (on an annual basis of ten (10) days of sick leave for a full school year) to the date on which they are scheduled to report for duty. Unused sick leave days shall be accumulated from year to year up to one hundred twenty-five (125) days. Sick leave use shall be deducted from the accumulated amount or 125 days, whichever is lesser. The above amounts shall apply only to consecutive years of employment in the District, and unused portions shall be forfeited when voluntarily leaving the District.
Accumulative Benefits. All employees shall be granted one hundred twenty (120) hours with pay each school year as of the first official day of the contact year. Unused sick leave shall be accumulated from year to year to a total of 1440 hours. (i.e., 15 days = 120 hours - 180 days = 1440 hours.) The school year shall be from July 1 to June 30. Employees will accrue hours in the same ratio as to the hours they work in a day. Example: Employees that are scheduled to work 5 hours per day will receive 75 hours per year, employees scheduled to work 4 hours per day will receive 60 hours per year, etc. Beginning with the 2009-10 contract, the maximum accumulation for full-time 12-month employees will be 2080 hours.
Accumulative Benefits. Any elective physician/dentist appointment will not be construed as paid sick leave and shall be considered personal leave. The Employer will grant sick leave for personal illness, injury, or appointments for physician/dentist required treatment in the following amounts: 1st year of employment -- 10 work days 2nd year of employment -- 11 work days 3rd year of employment -- 12 work days 4th year of employment -- 13 work days 5th year of employment -- 14 work days 6th year and subsequent years of employment -- 15 work days
Accumulative Benefits. Each employee shall be entitled to sick leave days according to the following schedule: First and subsequent years of employment in the District = 20 days per year. Unused sick leave shall be accumulated from year to year with a maximum accumulation of one hundred fifteen (115) days. The maximum number of days available then would be ninety-five (95) days, plus twenty (20) days, or one hundred fifteen (115) days. Separation from employment shall cancel all unused accrued sick leave. However, rehiring within two (2) years of reinstatement under the staff reduction article of this contract shall reinstate sick leave days that had accumulated prior to separation or termination of employment.
