Sick Leave for Personal Illness. Sick leave with pay shall be allowed whenever an employee’s absence is due to personal illness and/or disability which prevents an employee’s attendance at work and the performance of duties on such days. Sick leave may also be used for medical appointments where prior notification to the supervisor has been given. All uses of sick leave are subject to the following provisions:
Sick Leave for Personal Illness. In case of absence from duty because of personal illness (as hereinafter defined) all employees with six months or more of continuous service immediately preceding such absence will be entitled to sick leave with regular pay, or one-half regular pay, as applicable, for not more than eight hours in any one day during such periods of illness beginning with the second day of each absence (except as stated later in this section) in accordance with the following schedule:
Sick Leave for Personal Illness. 48 A total of fifteen (15) days of sick leave shall be granted for the first year of teaching, and twenty (20) days 49 of sick leave for each year of teaching thereafter, cumulative to a maximum of one hundred eighty-three 50 (183) days.
Sick Leave for Personal Illness. Sick leave with pay shall be allowed whenever principal's absence is due to personal illness which prevents the principal's attendance at work and the performance of duties on such days, subject to the following provisions: Any sick leave claim shall be subject to the approval of the Superintendent as to the validity of the circumstances upon which the claim is based. The principal shall, if requested, furnish such certificates and evidence of facts as may be required for verification. Sick leave with pay shall not be granted for illness or disability while a principal is on vacation or an approved leave of absence except where the principal is receiving worker's compensation or long-term disability payments. In those two cases, principals may use one-third (1/3) of each day of unused sick leave per day.
Sick Leave for Personal Illness. All twelve-month employees shall be allowed twelve (12) days absence annually with full salary for sickness in person or quarantine. All employees shall receive credit for their accumulated days of sick leave. Thereafter, all unused sick leave shall be added to the accumulated total. Full salary shall be paid for absence due to sickness until such accumulated leave is exhausted. Thereafter, full salary shall be deducted in accordance with the method of calculating the daily rate. Ten-month employees will be allowed ten (10) days absence annually with full pay for sickness or quarantine.
Sick Leave for Personal Illness and for Use for Major Illness of Family Members:
Sick Leave for Personal Illness. 12.4.1.1 Sick leave is earned by all probationary and permanent employees at the rate of one day for each calendar month of service with an annual maximum of thirteen (13) days. A calendar month of service shall be defined as no less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the required working days of any calendar month for an employee.
12.4.1.2 The number of days of sick leave a classified employee is eligible to earn during a fiscal year shall be available to him/her at any time during the fiscal year.
12.4.1.3 Any employee who leaves the service of the District, after having used more sick leave days than have been earned, shall have a deduction made in the due for each excess day. In case no salary is due, such employee at the time of termination of service shall be billed for repayment of pay received for unearned sick leave.
12.4.1.4 Sick leave may be accumulated from year to year without limit.
12.4.1.5 Upon retirement, unused sick leave shall be counted in computing retirement benefits according to Public Employees Retirement System regulations.
12.4.1.6 An employee, while on unpaid leave of absence, shall maintain any sick leave credits which were accumulated prior to such leave but shall not accumulate any additional sick leave credit during the leave.
12.4.1.7 In case an employee xxxxxx all official connection with the District and is reemployed within thirty-nine (39) months of termination, all unused sick leave credits on file at the close of the prior employment period shall be reinstated.
12.4.1.8 For personal illness absence of any employee exceeding seven (7) consecutive workdays, a physician's statement verifying the illness shall be provided by the employee in addition to providing notice of such illness as provided for in 12.4.1.

Teachers Unit members hired prior to July 1, 2009, shall be granted twenty (20) days of sick leave for each year of teachinginstructional employment, cumulative to a maximum of one hundred eighty-nine (189) days. Teachers Unit members hired on or after July 1, 2009, shall be granted fifteen (15) days of sick leave for each year of teachinginstructional employment, cumulative to a maximum of one hundred eighty-nine (189) days.
