Alternate Work Schedules (AWS). A. An employee may request a flexible work schedule (FWS) by submitting a written request to their first line supervisor. All written requests will be subject to supervisory approval/disapproval in accordance with 5 USC, 6131 and within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of the request. B. Employees who work a maxiflex work schedule may be allowed to “flex out and in” during flexible time bands, subject to supervisory approval. C. Possible FWS options may be, but not limited to:

The organizational element at Charleston AFB is defined as division, flight or shop level; the AWS is approved by the organizational commander. The organizational element commander at Charleston AFB is defined as the squadron commander or director of staff.

If the majority of employees in a department propose an alternate work schedule to their Department Head, the Department Head will review the details of the proposal and, within 30 days, meet with the employees to discuss the issue. Alternate Work Schedules (AWS). Upon agreement between the Union, the Employer and the employees, AWS may be established during the term of this Agreement. Such AWS may consist of compressed schedules, flexible schedules, or other arranged schedules that do not interfere with the economical and efficient operations of the Employer.

(b) In the event that the work schedule or shift for a regular employee or an auxiliary employee working a scheduled shift roster is changed without 48 hours' advance notice and such change is the result of the actions of another employee covered by this agreement utilizing the benefits provided for by the provisions of this agreement, the employee will receive a premium of 85¢ per hour in addition to their regular pay, for work performed on the first shift to which they changed. (c) In the event that an employee's work schedule or shift is changed without five days advance notice and the change results from causes other than defined in (b) above, the employee shall receive a premium at the applicable overtime rate for work performed on the first shift to which they changed, except that if the change results from no fault of the Employer they shall not receive a premium at overtime rates but shall receive the premium defined under (b) above.

  • Posting of Work Schedules Work schedules shall be written in ink and posted and maintained in such a way as to provide every employee an opportunity to know her shift schedule for an advanced period of six (6) weeks.
