Article Jury and Witness Duty. If an employee is required to serve as a juror any court of law, or is required to attend as a witness in a court proceeding in which the Crown is a party, or is required by subpoena to attend a court of law or coroner's inquest in connection with a case arising from the employee's duties at the workplace, the employee shall not lose regular pay because of such attendance provided that the employee:

In to the foregoing, where an employee is required by subpoena-to attend a court of law or coroner's inquest in case-arising from the employee's duties at the hospital on a day on which. he has not been scheduled to work, he shall be paid for all hours actually spent at such hearing at his regular straight time hourly rate subject to the over time provisions of the collective agreement and subject to (a), and above.

The Corporation shall grant leave of absence without loss of seniority to an employee who serves as a juror or witness in any court except as a witness on his own behalf. The Corporation shall pay the employee the difference between his normal earnings and the compensation paid not including travelling, meals, or other expenses, The employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received. Time spent by an employee required to serve as a court witness in any matter arising out of employment shall be considered as time worked at the appropriate rate of pay. A leave of absence with pay will not be granted unless a subpoena is submitted to the Corporation. An employee shall report to work as soon as practical and reasonable on any day while on leave under this clause if the court duties are less than three (3) hours. Such employee shall work the balance of his shift performing duties as assigned. If an employee is required to attend at court on behalf of the Corporation on his scheduled day off, an alternate day off shall be established by mutual agreement between the Corporation and the employee. If such jury duty should occur during an employee's vacation period, his vacation shall be postponed to a mutually agreeable time subject to Article -Vacation Plan, clause a). ARTICLE

Each seniority who is summoned to and reports for jury duty or as a Crown witness, as prescribed by applicable law, shall be paid by the Company for up to ten (10) working days the difference between the Employee’s basic hourly rate for the number of hours up to eight (8) that he otherwise would have been scheduled to work and the daily witness fee paid by the Court. Leave of absence shall be granted to an employee scheduled for duty and who is empanelled to serve on a jury or subpoenaed as a witness in a Hospital related case and the difference between jury pay or witness pay and the employee’s regular pay will be made by the Hospital upon verification of the actual jury duty or witness duty compensation which has been allowed, and provided the employee promptly advises their supervisor after receiving the notice of a call to serve, and provided the employee reports the notice of a call to serve, and provided the employee reports for work at every opportunity during the period and after they serve on such jury panel or as a witness.

An employee shall be granted leave of absence with pay at his regular hourly rate, for the scheduled number of hours the employee would have otherwise worked for the purpose of serving jury duty, or as a material witness subpoenaed by the Crown: provided that the employee shall reimburse the Company to the full amount of jury pay or witness fees excluding the expense allowance received by the employee. An employee who is not required to be in attendance at court shall report to work. Any employee called for jury or witness duty shall be transferred to day shift during the period he is required to serve.
Article Jury and Witness Duty. If the employee was scheduled for, and cannot, because of Jury or Witness duty, perform a twelve (12) hour the employee shall be paid the difference between the amount receivedfor such service and the normal pay for the twelve (12) hour shift provided that the hours in attendance, including two (2) hours travelling time, are equal to, or greater than six hours.
