ARTICLE OVERTIMEThe policy of the Employer is to maintain over- time at the necessary minimum; however, the Union and the employees recognise that over- time may be necessary in order to attain the standards of the best service possible or to fulfil the needs of the client. Extra work that may be required is assigned by the Employer in the most economical and efficient manner possible and then in order of seniority. The Employer will have extra work performed at straight time rates whenever pos- sible. In establishing the most economical manner, the employee’s position on the wage scale shall not be considered as a factor. Extra Work is defined as a separate job task which an employee is not scheduled to perform, and is not part of his regular assignment. To facilitate the assignment of overtime hours within the maintenance department the Employ- er will establish a voluntary overtime list as fol- lows: Voluntary Overtime List Procedures Mainten- ance Employees. The Employer will establish a “Volun- tary Overtime List” for Maintenance. All employees will declare if they wish to be placed on the overtime list. The list will be signed and posted on a monthly basis. Volunteers will be placed on the classification lists in seniority order. When overtime becomes available, vol- unteers will be contacted in the order that they are on the list and offered the overtime hours until shifts are filled. The employee who accepts the over- time will be rotated to the bottom of the list. Employees who turn down overtime will be rotated to the bottom of the list. Upon three consecutive refusals of overtime, an employee will be removed from the list for the remainder of the month. When the Employer is unable to fill overtime using the rotation process; the Employer may assign the junior em- ployee on “Voluntary Overtime List” to all such hours. Employees who cannot be contacted will be deemed to have been notified, but will retain their position on the list. Extension of an employee’s normal shift hours (at beginning or end) does not trigger the above procedure. It is agreed an extension should not exceed three hours and will be granted to com- plete a task. An overtime record in each will be maintained and posted in a conspicuous place with a copy being provided to the union.
ARTICLE OVERTIMEThe Union the necessity of overtime work in the airline industry and agrees to co-operate in this respect. The Corporation will, insofar as practicable, distribute overtime on an equitable basis and will post a monthly summary of overtime hours worked on the bulletin boards. This provision shall not apply to the Sales Representatives provided that the Corporation shall post a list of overtime hours worked by the Sales Representatives within thirty days of the end of each calendar quarter. Overtime will be recorded on a per annum basis with effect from January first of each year. An employee shall be compensated as follows for overtime work: For all work outside scheduled shift hours and on an employee’s first day off in any week, employees will be credited with payment at time and one-half for the first six hours and at double time for all hours thereafter until there is a rest period of at least eight consecutive hours calculated to the nearest quarter hour. For all work performed on an employee’s second scheduled day off, the employee shall be credited at time and one half provided he has worked the first day off. For purposes ofovertime calculations, an employee’s monthly salary shall be divided by to provide the appropriate hourly rate. At the option of the employee, overtime may be credited to his time bank in accordance with Article up to a maximum accumulation of fifty hours, after which overtime will be paid at the applicable overtime rates. The employee must elect to have the hours credited to his time bank when the overtime is approved and will not be permitted to subsequently seek payment instead of the time off. The compensatory time off under this Article shall be taken at times mutually agreed upon between the employee and the Corporation. If an employee is recalled to work on the same day after the completion of his regular shift and after leaving the Corporation’s premises he shall be provided with at least four hours work, or if four hours work shall not be available, the employee will be paid at least four hours pay at the appropriate rate. Employees working at least four hours overtime in a day in addition to their regularly scheduled hours shall receive a meal allowance of In this Article overtime shall mean work requested and properly by the Corporation and shall not mean work by mutual arrangement between employees for their own convenience. In no case will overtime and premium compensation be compounded, duplicated or pyramided.
ARTICLE OVERTIME. All authorized time worked in excess of regular hours in a work week or eight (8) hours per day in the regular work weeks set out in and above up to twelve (12) hours in a shift, will be paid at one and one-half (1%) times an employee’s regular hourly rate of pay. Where a shift exceeds twelve hours, double time will be paid for those hours worked in excess of twelve (12). Where an employee is required to work a seventh consecutive shift in a work week, will be paid at double their regular hourly rate of pay for each hour so worked. Employees will be paid at the rate of times their regular rate of pay for hours worked on Sunday, excluding hours worked on shifts Sunday evening to begin the work week e.g. Overtime shall be distributed as equitably as possible among qualified and able employees within their shift, provided

ARTICLE OVERTIME. Overtime shall be defined as being all hours worked in excess of the normal or extended work day, as set out in Article of this agreement or in excess of the normal or standard work week as set out in Article of the collective agreement. For the purposes of overtime the hours of work per week shall be averaged over two (2) pay periods.
