Association Officials Time Off. An Association Official who is an employee in the bargaining unit, shall be granted reasonable time-off without loss of pay for grievance processing/investigation and contract negotiation activities. Such activities shall not interfere with the normal routine functions of the Department.

Association Officials Time Off. An Association official who is an employee in the bargaining unit (Association Xxxxxxx and/or a member of the Negotiating Committee) may, at the discretion of the Chief or his designee, be granted time off while conducting contract negotiations or grievance resolution, including arbitration proceedings, on behalf of the employees in the bargaining unit provided: They notify the Employer at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the time off; unless such notice is not reasonably possible; The Employer is able to properly Staff the employees job duties during the time off; and The wage cost to the Employer is no greater than the cost that would have been incurred had the Association Official not taken time off. The Employer shall endeavor to allow a minimum of two (2) members of the Association's negotiation committee to attend negotiation sessions on on-duty time. Such members shall be designated by the Association at least one (1) week in advance, where possible, and may include individuals assigned to other than day shift if the Employer determines that xxxxxxx on that shift is adequate, without the necessity of overtime (such individuals shall be considered to be transferred to day shift for the day on which the negotiation session is held.) The Chief's approval pursuant to this Section shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Association Officials Time Off. An Association official who is an employee in the bargaining unit (Association Xxxxxxx and/or a member of the Negotiating or Grievance Committee) shall be granted reasonable time off with pay while conducting contract negotiations or grievance resolution on behalf of the employees in the bargaining unit; provided: They notify the Employer at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the time off; The Employer is able to properly staff the employee's job duties during the time off. 4.1.1 With management approval, the President or another single designee of the Association may be allowed to adjust their work schedules so as to perform necessary duties relating to the above matters without loss of pay. This shall be with the understanding that the cost to the Employer is neutral, i.e. not greater than the cost to the Employer would have been without the adjusting of work schedule(s). To ensure that the cost is neutral, the Association members will donate 800 hours of vacation per calendar year to reimburse the Employer for shifts shorted due to the above adjusting of work schedules. Banked hours shall not be forfeited but rather the contribution from each employee shall be adjusted in January of each year so as to begin the year with a total contribution of 800 total hours. In some years this means that the total employee contribution will exceed 800 hours so as to begin the year with the 800 hour balance and in some years the employees will donate less. Annually, each member of the bargaining unit will have four (4) hours of vacation leave deducted from his/her vacation accruals.

When Association activities, as enumerated above, must be scheduled during an Association Official's off duty hours, adjustments shall be made to the Official's regular schedule on an hour for hour (straight time) basis.

Additionally, the Employer shall allow two (2) delegates from the EPOA up to nine (9) work days per year of aggregate leave per delegate to attend each meeting of the Washington State Council of Police (WACOPS); provided that time spent in such endeavors is approved by an ACOP and shall not be considered compensable time within the meaning of the FLSA and; provided that such delegates pay all of their own expenses in attending the above meetings.

  • Union Officials 1. The Union will notify the Company in writing of the election, appointment, or removal of Union shop xxxxxxx(s). The District Lodge will notify the Company in writing of the Committee members at that location. 2. Effective upon the Date of Signing of this Agreement, the Company will assume the cost of a total of 150,000 hours of straight-time pay per year, to be used by shop stewards and other employees authorized by the Union for the purpose of administration of this Agreement and all other collective bargaining agreements between the Union and the Company. a. Shop stewards and other employees authorized by District Lodge 141 must give prior notice and report all time spent on Union business to the designated management representative. b. The Union will apportion the total annual allotment of 150,000 hours among the Company collective bargaining agreements it administers. In the event of an increase or reduction in the number of such agreements, the parties will meet to discuss and agree upon a proportionate adjustment in the hours allotment. 3. The parties will work with each other in good faith to ensure both that: (1) employees are reasonably represented in grievances and (2) the Company’s operation continues without undue delay. 4. The Union will provide the Company with the names, addresses, and phone numbers of its official Union Representatives. 5. The Company will provide the Union a reasonable amount of time as needed (not to exceed 2 hours) to participate in new-hire orientation for employees covered under this Agreement. 6. If requested by the Union and agreed to by the Company, Local Committeemen may be assigned to the Day Shift and to Saturday and Sunday as regular days off. In the event a significant dispute arises and remains unresolved it may be escalated to the level of AGC and HR at that station and, if not resolved, to the VP of Labor Relations and the President and Directing General Chairman.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid release time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year. 2. The following provisions were not bargained and have been included for informational purposes only: a. Because of the many responsibilities imposed on the President of the Association, and in order to enhance the quality of instruction in the classes taught by him or her and maintain continuity, the Board will provide the building to which the President is assigned with a full-time aide who is also a certified substitute teacher. b. The building principal and the President will work out a mutually agreed upon schedule for the use of the aide. c. The presence of this aide will not be used to justify absences in excess of those authorized by the terms of this Agreement.

  • Association Leave The Association shall be allowed to use up to 5 days of leave each school year for use by teachers who are officers or agents of the Association. The Association shall reimburse Unified School District 434 for the loss of use of the teacher taking such leave by paying the daily cost of a substitute teacher. The Association shall notify the Superintendent not less than 5 calendar days in advance of using such leave.

  • Association President The President of the Association has the right to visit schools. The President will coordinate the visits with the offices of the principals in order to facilitate the purpose of this visit. Visits that are made to solve special problems of teachers will be arranged in advance by notifying the office of the principal.

  • Union Officers Employees hereafter elected or appointed to full­ time Union office shall be granted a leave of absence without loss of sen­ iority but without accumulating seniority during the period of the leave of absence.

  • Association Grievance A grievance, as defined in Section 7.1, relating to occurrences actually involving at least three (3) nurses or arising under the Association Representative article, may be initiated by the Association at Step 2 of the above-mentioned procedure by the filing of a written grievance, signed by a representative of the Association, within 35 calendar days from the date of occurrence. Such grievance shall describe the problem and the contract provisions alleged to have been violated.

  • Association Dues The District agrees to deduct Association dues from the paycheck of each employee who individually and voluntarily authorize dues deductions. Employees’ authorizations will be in writing in a form agreed upon by the Association and the District. Said deduction shall be in nine substantially equal amounts during the school year beginning on or after October 15 of the corresponding school year. A schedule of deductions shall be provided to employees on or about September 1st. Authorizations shall continue from year to year unless revoked by the employee in writing prior to July 1 of any year. Dues deducted from employees’ wages will be transmitted to the Association following each corresponding payroll deduction. The Association will annually certify to the Superintendent the amount of Association dues. The following shall also apply: A. The Association shall provide payroll at District’s Business Office, dues deductions covered under this paragraph by October 1 of the contract year in which the deduction applies for all existing members as of said date, otherwise the employees' previous year deductions shall continue in force for the entire contract year unless terminated by the employee by the dates set forth herein. Deductions for any new employee hired prior to the date of said report shall also be included in the report. B. The form in which the Association reports union dues for existing membership must include, at minimum, employee name, social security number, and total unions dues to be deducted for the corresponding contract year. The report shall list employees alphabetically by last name. C. The form in which the Association reports union dues for new members must include, at minimum, employee name, social security number, total unions dues to be deducted for the corresponding contract year, and signed employee authorization. D. The District payroll office shall make changes to union dues not more than once in any contract year. However, union dues to individual employees may be adjusted as necessary due to changes in employment status with proper notification and reporting from the Association as outlined herein. If an employee elects to become a member after the Association Dues are submitted by the Association, the employee shall be responsible for paying any additional fees directly to the Association. E. The District shall provide the Association a list of all support staff covered under the collective bargaining agreement upon request of the Association, but not more than once per month.

  • Data Protection Officer 10.1 The Data Processor will appoint a Data Protection Officer where such appointment is required by Data Protection Laws and Regulations.

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Hospital-Association Committee (a) There shall be a Hospital-Union Committee comprised of representatives of the Hospital, one of whom shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate and of the Union, one of whom shall be the Bargaining Unit President or designate. The number of representatives is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions and the membership of the Committee may be expanded by mutual agreement. (b) The Committee shall meet every two (2) months unless otherwise agreed and as required under Article 8.01 (a) (iv). The duties of chair and secretary shall alternate between the parties. Where possible, agenda items will be exchanged in writing at least five (5) calendar days prior to the meeting. A record shall be maintained of matters referred to the Committee and the recommended disposition, if any, unless agreed to the contrary. Copies of the record shall be provided to Committee members. (c) The purpose of the Committee includes: i) promoting and providing effective and meaningful communication of information and ideas, including but not limited to workload measurement tools and the promotion of best practices. Such communication may include discussion of nursing workload measurement and patient acuity systems. The Hospital will provide, upon request, information on workload measurement systems applicable to nursing currently used by the Hospital, and evaluations completed by the Hospital of such systems. ii) reviewing professional responsibility complaints with a view to identifying trends and sharing organizational successes and solutions, making joint recommendations on matters of concern including the quality and quantity of nursing care and discussing the development and implementation of quality initiatives; iii) making joint recommendations to the Chief Nursing Officer on matters of concern regarding recurring workload issues including the development of staffing guidelines, the use of agency nurses and use of overtime; iv) dealing with complaints referred to it in accordance with the provisions of Article 8, Professional Responsibility; v) discussing and reviewing matters relating to orientation and in- service programs; vi) promote the creation of full-time positions for nurses, and discuss the effect of such changes on the employment status of the nurses. This may include the impact, if any, on part-time and full-time, job sharing and retention and recruitment. (d) The Hospital agrees to pay for time spent during regular working hours for representatives of the Union attending at such meetings. (e) Where a Committee representative designated by the Union attends Committee meetings outside of her or his regularly scheduled hours, she or he will be paid for all time spent in attendance at such meetings at her or his regular straight time hourly rate of pay. Such payment shall be limited to two (2) Committee representatives per meeting.
