Award of Tenure. Each College shall have its own internal process for recommending tenure for approval to the President. The College Rank Promotion and Tenure Committee, a sub-committee of Faculty Senate, shall develop and recommend a process for approval by the President. Tenure is the right to reappointment from appointment term to appointment term until such time as the faculty member resigns, retires, is dismissed for just cause, or is laid off during a reduction in force per Article XIV. Such reappointment shall be subject to the terms and conditions of employment which exists at the commencement of each contract term. Those terms and conditions of employment are as expressly set forth in the policies adopted or authorized by the Board, and the terms and provisions of this Agreement. Tenure is with the College and resides within a specific academic unit not with the Nebraska State College System. Tenured faculty reassigned to another academic unit at the same College shall retain their tenure in the new academic unit. Tenure to an academic unit is awarded by the President following a review process with recommendations submitted on March 15th by the Academic Vice President. Tenure review will include:
a) peer review;
b) Include provisions for student evaluation;
c) appropriate administrative review and recommendations; and,
d) the opportunity for the faculty member to provide appropriate material to support the application. Candidates for tenure may not serve on a peer review committee or College Rank Promotion and Tenure Committee during their candidacy. Tenure is awarded for quality of current professional performance and promise of such future performance, not merely for completing a certain length of service. It is equally incumbent on the faculty member and the College to ensure that tenure review occurs at the proper time. In no event shall the failure to give any notice constitute an award of continuous tenure by default. None of the provisions stated herein shall diminish any substantive rights for the acquisition of tenure which the faculty member may have acquired prior to the adoption of this Agreement. Only faculty members who have the rank of Assistant Professor or higher and have obtained the appropriate terminal degree are eligible to apply for tenure. Award of Tenure. The award of tenure shall be selective and conditioned upon positive recommendation through the review process described in Article 4.11 and predicated upon departmental goals consistent with institutional plans and needs. Under the circumstances where a President believes the negative recommendation of a member constitutes an extraordinary injustice, the President may recommend tenure. The probationary period (full-time service prior to the acquisition of tenure) shall not exceed seven (7) years of service in the university provided that all seven (7) years fall within the same ten (10) year period.
4.4.1 Prior service on special appointment at one of the universities shall be applied to the probationary period at that university.
4.4.2 Up to three years’ full-time service in other accredited colleges and universities may be applied toward the probationary period by written agreement of the concerned parties at the time of the member’s initial appointment, or not later than the end of the first semester of a member’s probationary service. Such credit for prior service shall not affect notice requirements under Article 4.9.
4.4.3 Notice of award of tenure shall be made in writing by letter described in Appendix B of this Agreement.
4.4.4 When a tenured member leaves the bargaining unit for any other non-management position within the University, conditions of return, if any, shall require consultation with the department and written agreement of member, CSU-AAUP and the Board. Any resulting agreement shall prevail over the provisions of any future CSU-AAUP Agreement.
Award of Tenure. In the next contract year following the award of tenure, there will be an adjustment up to the Tenured Professor Base Salary specified in Appendix A. This adjustment is in recognition of increased responsibilities and workload activities assigned to faculty following the award of tenure.
Award of Tenure. The appointing authority shall provide for the award of faculty tenure following a probationary period not to exceed nine (9) consecutive quarters, excluding Summer Quarters and approved leaves of absence. Provided, the appointing authority may award or

b. Professional growth, activity, and prospects shall be in accordance with the unit standards of each discipline.
Award of Tenure. (a) To qualify for the award of tenure, a Faculty Member shall have established the effectiveness of his/her teaching and a reasonable expectation of his/her ability to create a lengthy and meritorious record of effective teaching. In addition, depending upon the disciplinary area to which the Faculty Member belongs, he/she shall be expected to show evidence of the development of an independent and productive program of research, scholarship and creative activity leading to a reasonable expectation of his/her ability to demonstrate some combination of maturity of scholarship and professional achievement.
Award of Tenure. 19.04.1 Tenure shall mean an appointment which shall continue until retirement unless terminated under a provision of this Collective Agreement.
19.04.2 A Faculty Member shall be awarded tenure if recommended by the STP Committee as provided in this Article and recommended by the President and ratified by the Board.
19.04.3 Tenure shall become effective the date it is awarded by action of the Board.
Award of Tenure. 14.07.1 Award of Tenure shall be as provided for Faculty Members in Article 19.04 except that: in Article 19.04.4 Librarian III and IV shall replace Associate Professor and Professor, respectively, and University Librarian shall replace Xxxx, and in Article 19.04.4(c)(i) criteria in Article 14.11 shall replace criteria in Article 12.
14.07.2 Procedure for extension of probation and award of tenure shall be as provided for faculty in Article 19.05.
14.07.3 Termination of Probationary Appointment shall be as provided for faculty in Article 19.06.
