Broken Shift. (i) A broken shift is any shift that does not continue for five (5) consecutive working days Monday to Friday.
(ii) All hours worked on broken shifts shall be paid at the rate of time and a half for the first two hours and double time thereafter, except where the reasons for a broken shift eventuating are as a result of Employee actions or reasons.
(iii) The observance of a holiday or RDO in any week shall not be regarded as a break in continuity for the purpose of this subclause.
Broken Shift.
5.23.1 This clause only applies to the following employees who are not casual employees:
(a) Service Staff who are:
(i) Greenkeeping and grounds employees;
(ii) Catering employees;
(iii) Domestic/housekeeping employees;
(iv) Drivers of motor vehicles and associated duties employees;
(v) Cleaners; and
(vi) Security employees; and
(b) Children Services employees working in outside school hours care.
5.23.2 A broken shift is a shift that is broken into two or more periods (excluding rest pauses and meal breaks).
5.23.3 An employee (other than a children services employee) who works a broken shift on a day is entitled to the broken shift allowance prescribed in Schedule 1 – 7 (Services Staff Allowances) for that day.
5.23.4 A children services employee who works a broken shift on a day is entitled to the broken shift allowance prescribed in Schedule 1-9 (Children Services Employees).
5.23.5 To avoid doubt, an employee will not be entitled to the broken shift payment on a day where:
(a) the employee is engaged to work hours in accordance with multiple contracts (see clause 3.4 of this Agreement); and
(b) there is not an unpaid break greater than one hour between any of those hours worked on that day.
Broken Shift. When an employee elects to work two shifts within a 24 hour period each portion of that shift will be considered a separate shift and attract the relevant shift penalties where applicable. The combined shifts will not exceed 12 hours in total and are to be worked within a spread of 14 hours. If the employee’s ordinary hours exceed 76 per fortnight, then normal overtime conditions apply
Broken Shift. Where broken shifts are worked the spread of hours shall not exceed the ordinary hours by more than 3 hours, not including meal breaks. Provided that in no case shall the spread of hours exceed 12 hours per day.
Broken Shift. A Broken Shift Allowance is paid when an Employee is required to work a rostered shift in 2 periods of duty (excluding meal breaks). Per occasion $18.74 First Aid A First Aid Allowance is paid when an Employee who holds a Senior First Aid Certificate (also known as Apply First Aid or Workplace Level 2) is requested or nominated by Trident to act as a first aider. The per week amount will be paid to Per week Per shift $36.75 an Employee who permanently acts as a first aider and the per shift amount will be paid to an Employee who temporarily acts as a first aider. Meal Allowance A Meal Allowance is paid when an Employee is required to work more than one hour beyond the completion of the Employee's ordinary shift unless the Employee was notified the previous day or earlier of the requirement to work additional time. Per occasion $22.34
Broken Shift. 15.4.12.1 An employee who works on broken shift (excluding rotating shift work), which does not continue for at least five (5) successive shifts (Monday to Friday), hours shall be paid a loading for each afternoon and/or night shift at 50% for the first two ordinary hours and 100% for the remaining ordinary hours (i.e. where shifts are broken penalties shall be applied as per overtime entitlements). Such extra rate shall be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift loadings prescribed anywhere else in this Agreement.
15.4.12.2 Note: for the purpose of clarity, rotating shift work is defined as a roster pattern where shift types rotate according to a set schedule across the 24 hours of each of at least 6 days a week. Under this arrangement an employee moves through a cycle of working day shift, night shift, and any other shifts that may be necessary, as part of the rotating roster pattern; on the basis that the weekly average of 38 ordinary hours is achieved over a period which exceeds 28 consecutive days but does not exceed 12 months.

Broken Shift. 6.2.6.1 Definition
6.2.6.2 Calculation of payment Employees working a broken shift Monday to Friday inclusive, must be paid an additional 10 percent, calculated on the ordinary rates prescribed for each such broken shift worked. When the second part of a broken shift finishes at or after 7.30 p.m., the additional payment must be 15 percent calculated at the ordinary rate.
6.2.6.3 These provisions do not apply when an employee requests to work hours other than those displayed on a roster.
6.2.6.4 The additional payments prescribed by 6.2.6.2 do not form part of the employee’s ordinary pay .
6.2.6.5 Employees required to work broken shifts must be reimbursed for fares actually incurred to a maximum amount as set out in Schedule 3 for the second portion of the broken shift only.

6.4.8.4 The additional payments prescribed by 6.4.8.2 do not form part of the employee's ordinary pay for the purposes of this Agreement.
6.4.8.5 Employees required to work broken shifts will be reimbursed for fares actually incurred to a maximum amount as set out in Appendix 4 for the second portion of the broken shift only.
Broken Shift. A broken shift is any shift that does not continue for five (5) consecutive working days Monday to Friday (i.e. a combination of day work and shift work in any week, where the shift work hours count toward the 38 ordinary time hours worked in the week). All hours worked on broken shifts are paid as though they were overtime hours, excepting where the reasons for a broken shift eventuating are as a result of Employee actions or reasons. A loading of 50% shall apply to ordinary hours on a night shift. The weekend penalty rates will apply to shift work performed on weekends.
