Child Abuse. If I have reasonable cause to believe that a child with whom I have had contact has been abused I may be required to report the abuse. Additionally, if I have reasonable cause to believe that an adult with whom I have had contact has abused a child, I may be required to report the abuse. In any child abuse investigation I may be compelled to turn over PHI. Regardless of whether I am required to disclose PHI or to release documents, I also have an ethical obligation to prevent harm to my clients and others. I will use my professional judgment to determine whether it is appropriate to disclose PHI to prevent harm.
Child Abuse. The District shall incorporate Suspected Child Abuse Report form and Statement of Child Care Custodian (Appendix J).
Child Abuse. This school believes child abuse is mistreatment or neglect of a child by any parent(s) or other guardian, whether intentional or not, that results in injury or harm to the child. This includes physical abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, sexual abuse or neglect. As such, we are vehemently opposed to such treatment and will comply with the Mandatory State Reporting Law that requires us to report any SUSPECTED cases of child abuse within 36 hours. Our goal is to protect each child we meet, as well as offer viable parenting information to parents to prevent such a problem from occurring or re-occurring. We want to be here for you as a friend, to offer help and support, BUT WE DO HAVE A LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY TO REPORT ANY SUSPECTED CASE. (Also see “Inspection Authority”) CONFIDENTIALITY OF RECORDS All information and records obtained from or regarding our child(ren) shall be confidential. The Center will be responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality of record contents. All children’s records shall be available to State licensing to inspect, audit, and copy upon demand during normal business hours. All children’s records shall be kept for at least three years following termination of service to the child.
Child Abuse. A district employee who has reasonable cause to suspect that a student may be an abused or neglected child shall report such a case to the Montana Department of Family Services Centralized Intake Reporting System. All reporters will call the statewide phone number, 0-000-000-0000. The employee shall notify the Superintendent that the report has been made. Any of the District’s employees who fail to report to the Department of Family Services Centralized Intake Reporting System known or suspected cases of child abuse or neglect, or who prevent another person from reasonably doing so may be civilly liable for the damages proximately caused by such failure or prevention, and are guilty of a misdemeanor. This person will also be subject to disciplinary action, including discharge, by the Board. Ekalaka Public School Policy #5232.
Child Abuse. All employees shall report any suspected child abuse cases to the employee’s supervisor, or Director of Maintenance & Operations and if necessary to comply with state law to Child Protective Services or law enforcement. To the extent that it is legally possible, the District agrees to maintain the anonymity of the employee from the alleged abuser.
Child Abuse. In accordance with Public Act 238, 1975, teachers will confidentially report, in writing, suspected cases of child abuse to the principal and to protective services.
Child Abuse. The District recognizes the legal responsibility of employees to report any suspected child abuse within forty-eight (48) hours of the time the employee has reason to suspect that it has occurred. The responsibility to report is not relieved by simply notifying the administrator, intervention specialist/counselor. The employee is legally responsible for making the call. The District encourages employees to co-report with the appropriate building administrator. In the absence of the administrator, the employee may co-report with the intervention specialist/counselor. If the employee chooses, the administrator may make the phone call to Child Protective Services (CPS) as long as the employee is in the room and hears the report being made. The District will provide training for new employees during new staff orientation and for continuing employees at least once every three (3) years. Employees who report a school-related child abuse event directly to CPS will notify a building administrator or District level administrator of that action within forty-eight (48) hours after filing the report.
