Classification Study Requests. In response to a written request from a department head, the Union, or an employee for a reclassification study, the Human Resources Department shall acknowledge receipt of said request and if possible indicate the general priority, if known, within thirty (30) calendar days of the date said request is received by the Human Resources Department. The Director of Human Resources or his designee will review the status of pending classification study requests with a staff member of Union upon request.

If the denial or results of a study are not satisfactorily resolved with the analyst, the Union may appeal, in writing, to the Department Human Resources Manager indicating the specific justification for appeal of the analyst’s decision, within ten (10) working days from receipt of the analyst’s decision. If the denial or results of a study are not satisfactorily resolved with the Department Human Resources Manager, the Union may appeal in writing to the Human Resources Director, or NMC CEO for employees of NMC, or his/her designee, within ten (10) working days from receipt of the Department Human Resources Manager decision, indicating the specific justification for appeal of the department’s decision. The Human Resources Department shall provide notification to the requesting party within sixty (60) calendar days of receipt of the request if the request is accepted, rejected, or if more information is needed. When accepted, and if possible, Human Resources will indicate the general priority, if known, when notifying the requesting party of acceptance. The Human Resources Director, or designee, will review the status of pending classification study requests with a staff member of the Union upon request, but not more frequently than every three months.
