CLASSIFICATION STUDIES. 29.1 An employee who believes his/her position is not properly classified may submit a written request to the Department Director asking that a classification study be conducted. The Department Director will acknowledge the request in writing and review the request for accuracy, and forward it to the Director of Human Resources, or designee, for consideration and response. Classification studies will only be conducted twice a year in November and during the budget process; therefore, classification study requests shall be submitted October 1st for the November review and according to the Finance budget schedule. District’s management may also conduct classification studies at their discretion to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of all employees are appropriately allocated within the classification structure.

CLASSIFICATION STUDIES. The Human Resources Department conducts on-going classification and compensation studies pursuant to the provisions of the Civil Service rules. In the event MM/PROF wishes to request a classification or compensation study for an individual or a classification, it may do so by providing a written request to the Director of Human Resources. Written requests must provide significant justification to support the request for the study.
CLASSIFICATION STUDIES. The County agrees to provide copies of classification studies or reports intended to be presented to the Civil Service Commission seven (7) days in advance of such presentation if the study(ies) directly affects classifications with the unit. The County agrees to meet with the Association upon request regarding any proposed class specification changes.
CLASSIFICATION STUDIES a. The County, when developing proposed new or revised class specifications which directly change the classification of positions occupied by employees represented by the Union, shall notify the Union of the new specifications proposals. The County shall meet with the Union upon request regarding such proposed class specification changes. The County shall mail the Union copies of the final draft of the new specifications at least seven (7) days in advance of scheduled agenda date for Civil Service Commission action.
CLASSIFICATION STUDIES. A. The State and Unit 20 agree to establish a Joint Labor/Management Advisory Classification Committee to review and make recommendations on updating existing classification specifications which do not reflect the current duties.

CLASSIFICATION STUDIES. A. Clinical Chemistry Classes CAPS and the State agree to form a joint labor-management committee to perform a classification study on the Agricultural Chemist (Range A/B), II, and III (Specialist), Public Health Chemist I, II, and III (Specialist), Petroleum Products Chemist I and II, and Textile Chemist I and II classes. The committee shall review and compare the scope of work, typical tasks, minimum qualification requirements, including knowledge and abilities, for the purpose of making recommendations to the classification structure. The committee shall be staffed with an equal number of labor and management representatives, not to exceed a total of six members and a Chairperson. The Chairperson will be a representative of the Classification and Compensation Division BU 10 (01-03) (CCD), Department of Personnel Administration (DPA). The Chairperson will provide guidance on the method of data collection and analysis. The committee will attempt to come to mutual agreement on determining data collection methods, and resolve issues. The chair of the committee shall only vote to break a tie. The study shall begin no later that February 1, 2002. The committee will issue a report no later than January 31, 2003, or if extended, a mutually agreed upon date between CAPS and DPA. At a minimum, the report will contain a summary of data collected and method used, classification considerations analysis and recommendation. If there is a cost associated with this study, it shall be subject to the availability of funds. If the State and CAPS do not come to mutual agreement on the issuance of a report and recommendation, the State and CAPS agree to meet and confer on the results of the study.
CLASSIFICATION STUDIES. A. The Department of Personnel Administration and the Department of Motor Vehicles shall conduct a classification study of the classes listed, below, to determine if the duties currently being performed are appropriate for the class or another classification. The State shall meet and confer with the Union regarding the salary, including appropriate differentials, and any other appropriate terms and conditions of employment.
CLASSIFICATION STUDIES a. The County agrees to give UPE in respect to matters affecting employees in classifications it represents, copies of the final draft report of classification studies from the Department of Personnel Services to the Civil Service Commission as follows: If the classification study modifies existing class specifications or creates new class specifications, and reallocates existing positions to different classifications, UPE shall be sent the report fourteen (14) days prior to the deadline for the Department of Personnel Services to submit its final report to the Civil Service Commission. UPE shall be obligated to provide to the Department of Personnel Services any concerns, comments, and problems it may have with the final draft report one (1) week prior to the aforementioned deadline. The County and UPE shall attempt to resolve any differences as expeditiously as possible.
