Community Services Officers. 27.17.1 Subject to the provisions of 27.17.2 and 27.17.3 of this subclause Community Services Officers will be entitled to all public holidays as prescribed in this clause without loss of pay. 27.17.2 An employee who works on a public holiday as part of the Employee’s ordinary working hours [as prescribed in 27.11 of this clause] will be entitled to equivalent time off work without loss of pay not later than three months after the public holiday occurs and where practicable in the week in which the public holiday occurs 27.17.3 A Community Services Officer who is rostered off on a public holiday will be entitled to another day off work without loss of pay not later than three months after the public holiday occurs and where practicable in the week in which the public holiday occurs.
Community Services Officers. A. Community Service Officers shall have two (2) paid break periods of fifteen (15) minutes each, and one (1) unpaid meal period of thirty (30) minutes. B. The City and the Association will continue to meet to discuss transitioning away from the twenty-six (26) furlough days per fiscal year. Furlough days and any loss of compensation or benefits created by the associated reduction in work hours, shall be eliminated effective the pay period beginning August 22, 2019. Community Services Officers will return to a five (5) day work week, Monday through Friday, with Regular Full-Time employees working eight (8) hours each day. C. Community Service Officers shall be entitled to two (2) days off per work week. D. Community Service Officers workdays and hours will be subject to modification in the event of emergency or other extenuating circumstances. Any changes to scheduled hours will be subject to Section 9.1.
Community Services Officers a. The defined number of field CSO's will not exceed five (5) without further discussion with the DSA. b. Increase in field CSO allocations will not displace any current Deputy Sheriff allocations without first meeting and conferring with the DSA specifically on that issue. c. The field CSO's will have defined duties to help insure that CSO duties do not overly encroach on the established duties of a deputy sheriff. All cases handled by field CSO’s will not have suspect contact and will have minimal or no follow-up. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following areas: • Missing persons reports • Abandoned vehicle reports • Stolen/recovered vehicles • Xxxxx and Grand theft reports • Burglary. reports (requiring minimal or no follow up) • Lost/found property reports • Identification theft cases • Vandalism reports • Mail theft/tampering reports • Annoying/threatening phone call reports • Assist patrol as requested by on-scene deputy sheriffs and supervisors o eg. traffic control, basic evidence collection, and vehicle towing • Phone reports not requiring extensive follow-up or involving complex narratives or investigation d. Field CSO's should contact Sheriff’s Office supervisors to refer cases that involve more complex or sensitive situations or situations that would require suspect contact or additional follow-up.

The City and APOA shall meet to review, monitor, and discuss the financial condition of the City on a regular basis, no less than one (1) time per year, and agree to continue discussions regarding possible strategic collaborations related to work schedules in light of the City’s financial status. To facilitate the required furloughs, the City and APOA have agreed to a compressed work schedule for Community Service Officers consisting of a four (4) day work week, with the working nine (9) hours each day, thereby creating a work week consisting of thirty-six (36) hours of work. If the furlough requirement set forth herein is modified or eliminated by the City, the City and APOA shall meet and confer regarding adjustments to the work schedule. C. Community Service Officers shall be entitled to two (2) days off per work week. D. Community Service Officers work days and hours will be subject to modification in the event of emergency or other extenuating circumstances. Any changes to scheduled hours will be subject to Section 9.1.
Community Services Officers normally scheduled to work on this day shall follow their normal work schedule and may request time off per the normal time off procedures. Al l other Police Department administrative support staff shall participate in the mandatory closure.
