Compelling Personal Importance Leave. Compelling Personal Importance Leave not to exceed five (5) days per school year 24 may be used by the employee. No more than three (3) days may be used 25 consecutively. Compelling Personal Importance Leave shall be deducted from the 26 employee’s accrued sick leave. The procedure for Compelling Personal 27 Importance Leave shall be the same as those for personal necessity leave, except 28 those employees using this leave may be required by the District to file a written 29 statement of explanation upon their return, submitted only to the Assistant 30 Superintendent, Personnel. Such statement shall be confidential. This leave shall 31 not be used for any of the following purposes:
Compelling Personal Importance Leave. 12.1.1.3.11.1 Compelling Personal Importance is defined as business of urgent and compelling importance which cannot be taken care of outside normal working hours and which is not covered under other leave provisions of this Agreement.
12.1.1.3.11.2 A unit member must secure advance permission for all Compelling Personal Importance Leave as defined above, and shall normally notify the immediate supervisor two (2) days before taking this leave, unless an emergency exists which prohibits the unit member from providing such advance notice. No more than two (2) days may be used for Compelling Personal Importance Leave in any school year.
12.1.1.3.11.3 Unit members shall complete the District's absence affidavit which shall verify that the unit member's use of leave was for personal business of urgent and compelling importance as defined above, and that such leave has not been used for recreational purposes, extension of holidays or vacation work stoppages or for matters of purely personal convenience.
Compelling Personal Importance Leave. Every employee shall be allowed four (4) days each year to be absent from school due to compelling personal importance. This absence shall be deducted from his or her annual sick leave credit. An individual desirous of using a day of sick leave for "compelling personal importance" shall adhere to the following guidelines:
19.7.1 Complete and submit the request for compelling personal importance leave on an appropriate form;
19.7.2 The form shall be submitted to the immediate supervisor seventy-two (72) hours prior to the start of the requested leave.
Compelling Personal Importance Leave. 25 Four (4) personal necessity days of the allowable seven (7) days per year may be 26 used by Bargaining Unit Members for personal, legal, business, or family matters 27 which require absence during normal working hours. Request for this leave shall 28 be made at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance when reasonably possible. 29 Compelling Personal Importance days may not be used in lieu of vacation or for 30 recreational purposes.
Compelling Personal Importance Leave. 6.4.1 Unit members may use up to two (2) days of the current year’s personal necessity leave as compelling personal importance leaves with no prior permission required.
Compelling Personal Importance Leave. Every teacher shall be allowed four (4) days each year to be absent from school due to compelling personal importance. This absence shall be deducted from his/her annual sick leave credit. An individual desirous of using a day of sick leave for compelling personal importance shall adhere to the following guidelines:
9.7.2.1 Complete and submit the request for compelling personal importance leave on an appropriate form.
9.7.2.2 The form shall be submitted to the building principal seventy-two (72) hours prior to the start of the requested leave.
9.7.2.3 The request for leave will be granted provided lesson plans are current and an authorized substitute is available.
Compelling Personal Importance Leave. 12.10.1 A leave of absence for personal matters of concern to employees that are characterized by urgency and circumstances that demand the attention of the employee may be granted by the Superintendent or designee. The Superintendent or designee may grant a unit member a leave of absence for compelling personal importance leave with pay. The unit member shall make his/her request, on the appropriate district form, at least three days prior to the beginning of the leave, except when the situation is an emergency and advance notification is not possible. In such cases, the unit member shall give as much advance notification as possible or provide justification upon return.
Compelling Personal Importance Leave shall include: (a) attendance at the funeral of a person with whom the employee had a significant emotional relationship; (b) attendance at a graduation ceremony of the unit member, spouse, or child at which a degree or diploma from a high school or higher accredited institution is attained; (c) appointments with legal advisor in matters not involving the District, or others such as IRS official, court obligation, etc., when office hours or obligations preclude use of after school hours; (d) transaction of responsibilities on behalf of incapacitated relative when employee is the only person available; (e) marriage of a child; (f) unforeseen personal emergency such as but not limited to:
Compelling Personal Importance Leave. Effective April 12, 2011, three (3) days of Personal Necessity Leave will be allowed at the declaration of the unit member for compelling personal importance with no prior permission required.
Compelling Personal Importance Leave. A maximum of two (2) days of Personal Necessity Leave per school year may be used for matters of compelling personal importance such as (a) medical examinations, (b) closing title to a home;
