Deferred Salary Plan. Employees who have commenced a deferred salary plan under the Column C agreement shall be eligible to continue this plan until its completion under the terms and conditions contained in the Column C agreement, including any provisions related to return from leave.
Deferred Salary Plan. 24.01 The School Authority may grant leave of absence of one year to teachers on the basis of spreading X years' salary over Y years on the following terms and conditions (hereinafter called the Plan):
24.02 Any teacher holding a contract with the School Authority and who has completed at least one (1) year teaching for the School Authority may apply to participate in this plan.
24.03 A teacher wishing to participate in such a Plan shall apply in writing to the Secretary- Treasurer on or before February 1st to participate in the Plan commencing the following September 1st.
24.04 All applications shall be considered by the Supervisory Officer.
24.05 Applications recommended by the Supervisory Officer shall be reviewed by the School Authority on or before April 1st each year. Teachers whose applications are approved shall be informed by May 1st.
24.06 Each teacher permitted to participate in the above Plan shall enter into an agreement with the School Authority as follows:
a) In each of the X years of the Plan commencing September 1st next following approval the teacher shall be paid X/Y of the salary and responsibility allowance to which he is otherwise entitled.
b) The remaining portion of such salary and allowances shall be deposited by the School Authority in a savings account or in any other mutually agreed upon plan, and accumulated with interest credited thereon at the rate payable from time to time by the School Authority’s bank. Such account shall be in the name of the teacher.
c) The leave of absence shall commence on the September 1st of the Y year from the commencement of the teacher's participation in the Plan.
d) During such school year of the leave of absence, the School Authority shall pay the teacher all the funds accumulated pursuant to Article 24.06 (b) in a manner agreeable to both the School Authority and the teacher and shall continue to deduct and remit that portion of the Benefits' plan contributions to the Teacher's Pension Plan which it had been paying prior to the commencement of the leave.
e) During such leave and subject to continuing eligibility requirements, the teacher shall pay the total premium cost of the Benefits' plan specified in the Agreement and contributions to the Teachers' Pension Plan.
f) Subject to any other provisions of the Collective Agreement, the School Authority guarantees a comparable position to the teacher upon return from the leave.

Deferred Salary Plan. A Deferred Salary Plan represents a special measure toward the shared goal of enhancing the retention and recruitment of professional staff to Saskatchewan’s Health Care system. HSAS will have the right to request each Health Region and affiliates to permit their interested HSAS Employees to participate in the Plan with or without minor changes to the wording of the Plan as mutually agreed. Failing mutual agreement on the wording of the Plan either HSAS or the Health Region (including affiliates) may appeal to a third party for a final and binding decision on the wording of the Plan. Failure to reach agreement on the name of a third party will allow a request by either party to the Minister of Labour to appoint same. In so far as the operation of the Employer allows, participation by HSAS members in the Plan will not be unreasonably denied. For a template of a Deferred Salary Leave Plan see Appendix C.

Deferred Salary Plan. 33.01 The terms of the Deferred Salary Leave Plan are detailed in Appendix “B”. This provision is not applicable to a Casual Employee.
Deferred Salary Plan. Horizon School Division supports self-funded and self-administered deferred salary leave plans for teachers. The purpose is to provide an opportunity to defer a portion of a teacher’s salary to be used during an unpaid extended leave.
3.1 To qualify, a teacher must have completed two (2) years of service with the Division and be employed on a continuing contract.
3.2 The terms of the Deferred Salary Leave Plan shall comply with the Income Tax Act.
3.3 Applications to the Director (or designate) shall be no later than April 30 of the prior school year.
3.4 The teacher shall be free to pursue any activity desired during the Deferred Salary Leave Plan leave of absence, except professional employment with another Board of Education.
3.5 A teacher can voluntarily withdraw from the plan in any month except December. Upon voluntary withdrawal, all deferred salary held under the arrangement will be added to the Teachers taxable income in that calendar year. All reasonable efforts will be made to pay out all deferred salary less required deductions to the teacher within one (1) pay period of voluntary withdrawal.
Deferred Salary Plan. A Deferred Salary Plan is contained in Schedule B which forms part of this Agreement. This Plan allows employees the opportunity of taking up to a one (1) year leave of absence with partial pay.
Deferred Salary Plan. The Employer shall have a policy in place which will enable Employees who have completed their probationary period to access a deferred salary plan. The policy shall be in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency and Local Authorities Pension Plan regulations.
Deferred Salary Plan. With the approval of the Employer, salaried physicians shall be eligible to access the deferred salary plan with those Employers who have made the arrangements with Revenue Canada.
