Extension of Maternity Leave. Maternity leave shall be extended for up to an additional six (6) months for health reasons where a doctor's certificate is presented.

In instances where an employee ineligible for benefits, pursuant to Clause 17.1, is unable, due to illness or disability, to return to work upon expiration of maternity leave, then, on written request of the employee and with a medical certificate, leave will be extended in such circumstances.

If the birth occurs after the due date, the employee is entitled to extend the maternity leave for the length of time the birth is overdue, except if she still has at least two (2) weeks of maternity leave left after the birth. The maternity leave may also be extended if the state of health of the child or of the employee requires it. During those extensions, the employee is considered on leave without salary and shall not receive any allowance or benefit from the board. The employee is entitled to the benefits prescribed in clause 5-4.16 during the first six (6) weeks and subsequently in clause 5-4.46 during those extensions.
Extension of Maternity Leave. Maternity leave as provided in Article 20.1 may be extended up to an additional six consecutive months where an employee is unable to work for reasons related to the birth or the termination of the pregnancy provided such request is substantiated by a doctor's certificate.

If the birth of the child takes place later than the expected date, the employee is entitled to an extension of her maternity leave equal to that of the delay, except if she has at least two (2) weeks of maternity leave remaining after the delivery. During such extensions, the employee shall be considered on leave without pay and shall receive no indemnities or compensation from the College. During such periods, the employee shall be covered by clause 7-4.52 for the first six (6) weeks and subsequently by clause 7-4.53.
Extension of Maternity Leave. Maternity leave of absence may be extended through provisions of this Article. Application for such leave must be made at least two (2) weeks prior to the effective date and must commence immediately following expiration of the maternity leave.

The duration of this extension shall be as indicated on the medical certificate provided by the professor. During these extensions, the professor shall be considered on leave without pay and shall receive no benefits or allowances from the College. During these periods, the professor shall be covered by clause 5-6.55 for the first six (6) weeks and subsequently by clause 5-6.56.
Extension of Maternity Leave. At his/her discretion, the employee's attending physician may extend the term of maternity leave beyond the 135-day post-delivery maximum, described above, for medical reasons associated with such pregnancy until such time as he/she determines that the employee is fit for return to duty. In this event the attending physician shall submit the reasons for such extension, and its expected duration, in writing to the Department Administration prior to the date on which such 135-day post-delivery maximum occurs.
Extension of Maternity Leave. Maternity leave without pay may be extended for additional consecutive weeks in accordance with current provincial legislation. The Employer requires that the written request be accompanied by a medical practitioner’s certificate that the employee is not able to return to work at the expiration of the approved leave.
