EXTRA BOARD RULES. SECTION 1 Extra Board Operators will keep a current telephone number on file in the Dispatch office at all times. Pager numbers are not acceptable. Division until the next Pick commences Work will be assigned beginning with the number one (1) Extra Board Operator. When a vacation relief operator is not required to cover an operator on vacation, he will be assigned in seniority on the regular Extra Board. Work will be assigned to the Extra Board by run completion time. The run with the earliest completion time, regardless of the start/split time will be assigned to the number one (1) Extra Board Operator. The number two (2) Extra Board Operator will be assigned the next earliest time, etc. In no event will an Operator be assigned work without being given a minimum of eight (8) hours off between the completion of that day’s work and his report time for the next day’s assignment. Regular runs, report requirements and extra work will be filled before Community Service work is assigned. Operators will be assigned where required after following the above procedures. Extra Board Operators must report at such time or location as instructed or as shown on the Extra Board Assignment Report. Having reported for duty, Operators must not make themselves unavailable without permission from the Dispatcher. Extra Board assignments will be displayed no later than 4:00 p.m. After the Board is posted, a Run assignment will not be changed. If a run becomes open after the Board is displayed, that run will be marked open and assigned on the effective day. On occasion, to cover runs that come open after the Board is displayed, Extra Board Operators with a “Report” only time may be assigned a run before or after his displayed “report time”. When this occurs, Operators with a “Report” only time will be notified a minimum of two (2) hours prior to their original “report time”. An Operator may be called in to cover the Board when necessary. At no time will an Extra Board Operator or an Operator who signs up to work his day off be required to remain on duty for more than thirteen (13) hours in a single day, if the Operator works eight (8) hours or less. Operators who desire to work on their days off must submit an Extra Work Request Slip to the Dispatch Office before 2:00 p.m., the day prior to the day they wish to work.
EXTRA BOARD RULES. All Extraboard rules according to guidelines will be mutually developed and agreed to by both parties.
EXTRA BOARD RULES. The Rules and Regulations governing Bus Extra Board Operations and the Rules and Regulations governing Light Rail Vehicle Extra Board Operations as set forth in a separate document are incorporated herein and made a part of this Memorandum of Agreement by reference. No changes will be made in either set of rules except as a part of negotiations for a new Memorandum of Agreement or by mutual agreement between the parties.
EXTRA BOARD RULES. Assigning Work 1. All extra work shall be assigned to the board before regular Operators receive overtime. Before regular Operators will be called in for RDO work, the extra board will be exhausted. All assigned work shall be paid as assigned. 2. When making up the board, all runs will be assigned before any overtime is added. The first run finished is the first marked up. If two (2) runs get off at the same time, the longest run shall be marked up first. 3. After the runs are assigned, the extra work will be given out with the greatest total time assigned first with the exception of extra service, which will be given to the extra board Operators. (Intent is to not assign regular Operators who have overslept extra service.) 4. When two pieces can be combined to fit the qualifications of a run and will total seven (7) hours and thirty (30) minutes or more, this combination will be inserted in it's proper place among the runs. If a run comes open, it should be assigned as a run. (Intent is to assign full runs unless they are split days separated to be used as trippers.) 5. All RDOs assigned when the extra board is made out will be split days if at all practicable. The District will assign RDO work to the extra board and regular Operators according to past practice. All RDO work will be as close to eight (8) hours as possible and will be assigned in this order: split days, night runs, matinees, a.m.s. Each category of run must be exhausted before assigning runs from the next. 6. Specials shall be marked up after extras unless they are specials expected to be out more than three (3) hours, and then they shall be worked with extras. 7. An effort will be made not to assign a.m. reports before a night run and p.m. reports after an a.m. run when the board is made out.

An EB Operator who chooses to work their RDO must notify no later than 1330 (1:30p.m.) of the day prior to the RDO being worked. If an EB operator waives their RDO, they maintain their rotational status. (C) EB Operators who waive their RDO and are in an overtime situation will have work offered to them as outlined in Rule D4. (D) Vacant pieces of work shall be filled by EB Operators, not in overtime, first. Runs will be left whole if possible combined or split if necessary, in the most efficient manner possible and offered as follows: 1) EB Operators in rotation by hour assignment of greatest to least. 2) Operators, listed on the Willing to Work List, on a rotational basis. 3) Any available Operator not in an overtime situation in seniority order.
