Fire Marshal. In order to take the promotional examination for Fire Marshal, an applicant shall be an employee of the Middletown Fire Department and shall have been an officer of the Middletown Fire Department for at least five (5) years. In the event that there shall be less than three (3) officers taking any promotional exam for Fire Marshal, the same shall be open to all permanent employees of the Middletown Fire Department with at least ten (10) years service on the Middletown Fire Department as of the date of the written examination.

Fire Marshal. The Fire Marshal will be considered as a “regular, full-time employee” of the City of Xxxxxxxx. As such, his schedule will typically be on the basis of Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Vacation, holidays, sick leave, funeral leave benefits will accrue and be paid out on the same terms as any other regular full-time employee who is not scheduled to shift work.
Fire Marshal. All employees of the Fire Department with at least five (5) years of full-time service will be entitled to take the examination for Fire Marshal. If a vacancy occurs in that position, the person with the highest passing score on the most recent examination held within a period of two (2) years next preceding the date of appointment, and who is willing to accept employment, shall be appointed Fire Marshal. The Fire Marshal shall become a State of Michigan Certified Fire Inspector, under the rules adopted by the Michigan Fire Fighters Training Council, and shall be required to maintain that certification. Except as modified by this Agreement, the provisions of 1935 P.A. 78 (MCLA 38.501 et seq.) shall apply.
Fire Marshal. Future appointments to the position of Fire Marshal shall be subject to the posting, bidding, and testing provisions of Article 8 as well as the conditions set forth in Article 8, Section G. Any employee who is hired or appointed to the rank of Fire Marshal without possessing the Fire Marshal Certification at the time of employment or appointment shall be paid at the Trainee step until he/she receives his/her Fire Marshal Certification at which time, he/she shall receive the pay as in Step 1 of Fire Marshal. Any employee with less than one (1) year of service in his/her classification shall be paid at Step 1 of the range of his/her classification. Any employee who has completed one (1) year but less than two (2) years in his/her classification shall be paid at Step 2 of the salary range of his classification.
Fire Marshal. The regular paid hours of work shall be seven and one half (7.5) hours per day plus a half hour unpaid lunch. The regular work schedule shall be thirty-five (35) hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Time worked in excess of thirty-five (35) hours up to and including forty (40) hours per week shall be paid at the regular straight time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked. Time worked in excess of forty (40) hours per week shall be paid at the rate of one and one half (1 ½) times the regular rate of pay for all hours worked. Time and one half (1½) the regular rate of pay plus holiday pay shall be paid for all work performed on
Fire Marshal. Subject to (e) below, after one work week the member with the most seniority as a Coordinator within the Investigation / inspection Sections shall act as Fire Marshal.
Fire Marshal. Section 1 The position of Fire Marshal for promotional purposes shall be equal to the rank of Captain. The Fire Marshal shall work a forty- (40) hour workweek. The Fire Marshal shall receive a base hourly rate, plus longevity and training increments. Section 2 Wage increases for the Fire Marshal shall be tied to the bargaining unit contract using a multiplier of 1.5 of the wage increase for captains. The 1.5 multiplier shall also apply to longevity steps and training increments. **Suspended for duration of this contract through December 31, 2027** Section 3 The Fire Marshal's work schedule is forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 0700 and 2000 not working more than 10 hours a day. Regular work hours will be established by the Fire Chief. The Fire Marshal shall be paid for call-ins, investigations, and any meeting after regularly scheduled work hours where attendance is required and approved by the Fire Chief, at 1-1/2 times the employee’s straight-time rate, but shall not receive compensatory time. Section 4 The Fire Marshal will be provided a vehicle for duty use. The Fire Chief will determine the availability of the vehicle for driving to and from work. Section 5 The Fire Marshal shall be considered as a forty (40) hour employee under Article 16. Except as provided for in this Article and in Article 16, the Fire Marshal shall be covered by all the other terms and conditions of employment of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Section 6 To accept the position of Fire Marshal, applicants shall be required to have Fire Investigator I & II, Building/Plan Review, and Fire Inspector I certifications. At the request of either party, the parties shall meet to discuss these requirements. If the parties agree to a change in the requirements, they shall incorporate the change into a supplemental letter of agreement.

Fire Marshal. (i) The Fire Marshal shall be permitted to perform inspections of the Tenant Facilities as provided under applicable law (including, but not limited to, applicable building and fire codes and the University’s fire and life safety regulations, including codes or regulations promulgated by the Fire Marshal). Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Fire Marshal’s Office shall be permitted to (i) perform regular on-site inspections of the Tenant Facilities to assure compliance with applicable law during regular business hours and with reasonable advance notice to the applicable Tenant, except in the case of an emergency and (ii) observe and participate in routine, pre-announced fire drills conducted at the Tenant Facilities by the applicable Tenant.
Fire Marshal. A. The Fire Marshal will work a Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day, schedule, with a one-half hour (1/2) in-service lunch. B. The Fire Marshal position will be part of the command structure overseeing the Fire Prevention Division and shall be subordinate to the Deputy Fire Chief. C. The Fire Marshal may be used in fire suppression activities in emergency situations as mandated by the Fire Chief, Fire Chief or their designee. In addition to Article 28, duties of the Fire Marshal shall be determined by the Fire Chief. D. This position shall be filled by a person filled from within the bargaining unit in accordance with Article 11.6 it being understood that departmental seniority will be maintained within the bargaining unit. An Employee selected to be Fire Marshal can elect to transfer back to the Fire Suppression Division without loss of seniority, but must return to the open vacancy. E. The Fire Marshal shall be entitled to the following wages and fringe benefits: 1. The wage scale for the Fire Marshal is set forth in Article 14. 2. The Fire Marshal shall not receive a food allowance or Holiday Pay. 3. All time worked in excess of the set forth in A., above, shall be paid at time and one-half (1 1/2), unless the Fire Marshal, with the approval of the Fire Chief, elects to take that time as compensatory time. 4. If required to work a holiday, the Fire Marshal shall be paid double time for all time worked. The Fire Marshal shall have the same holidays as the Director of Public Safety. 5. The Township shall pay for all training and expenses, excluding lunches, for all required state certifications and renewals as shall be necessary for the maintenance of the position.
Fire Marshal. An initial $400 uniform allowance shall be provided for the first year of employment. After the first year of employment, the employee is eligible for a pro-rated uniform allowance based on the number of months remaining in the fiscal year. Thereafter, the employee shall receive a uniform allowance of $800 effective the first full pay period in July. Department Heads and/or Managers shall determine uniform expectations/specifications for classifications noted above. Employees who receive a uniform allowance are responsible for wearing the designated uniform and reporting to work in a clean and neat fashion. Effective July 1, 2023, the following job classifications shall be provided a safety shoe and accessories (laces, insoles, etc.) from a contracted vendor at no cost up to $225 per person, per fiscal year.
