Forty Hour Week. In compliance with the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, the City shall designate a forty (40) hour work week for each employee. The designated week can begin at any hour and any day. The designated work week does not necessarily correlate with the biweekly pay period. All employees on a 9/80 or 3/12 work schedule shall have their workweek begin four (4) hours after the start time of their shift on their alternate regular day off. Employees not on a traditional work schedule or 4/10 shall have their workweek begin at midnight on Saturday morning.

Forty Hour Week. If the local parties agree, the enterprise may introduce 40-hour working weeks where the excess working hours are banked. Such banked hours must be taken as full and half days off at a time which is convenient for the parties, perhaps in connection with weekday holidays. Both parties are entitled to eight days' notice. In connection with banking of hours, a locally agreed hourly amount is banked. In the event of resignation, the banked hours must be taken as time off before the em- ployee vacates his or her position. The provisions in the box above do not apply to Tobacco.
Forty Hour Week. The normal regular full-time work schedule shall consist of: a) A forty (40) hour work week, based on an eight (8) hours per day consisting of a five (5) day work week. b) Between 08:30 hrs. and 04:30 hrs. including one-half (1/2) hour paid meal break, and with a 15-minute break scheduled in the first half of the day and another 15-minute break scheduled in the second half of the day, or other such shift schedule as determined by the operational needs of the Employer.

Forty Hour Week. The Company agrees that it will maintain a sufficient amount of regular work within its plant to supply its employees with at least forty (40) hours work per week before any of its work is sublet to any outside company. The following work may be designated for outsourcing even when employees with five or more years of seniority are laid off where the Company does not have the equipment to effectively perform the work and when the active employees do not have the ability to perform the work within the time frame needed to meet production schedules: • New dies • Engineering changes on current dies • Any detail needed in an emergency which is defined as an urgent and unpredictable event. • Replacement details requiring: • Wire EDM • Conventional EDM • Xxxxxxxxx Grinding • 3D Machining • Parts too large for our machines The Company will provide the Union Chairman and Skilled Trades Representative with advance notice of any contemplated outsourcing or subcontracting action regarding skilled trades work when any skilled trades employee is laid off. The Company will provide the Union Chairman with advance notice of any contemplated outsourcing or subcontracting action regarding production work when any production worker is laid off. Upon request the Company will meet with the Union Chairman and where appropriate, the Skilled Trades Representative before the work is outsourced or subcontracted to discuss whether the work can be performed in house given the available on roll manpower, equipment, and timeliness issues involved. The parties will also consider whether there is enough work to justify the recall of a laid off employee.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Working Day Working Day means a day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday which is observed by the construction industry in the area of the Place of the Work.

  • Hour Shift A ten (10) hour tour shall be inclusive of an unpaid thirty-seven and one half (37.5) minute meal period and two fifteen (15) minute paid relief periods.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Basic Work Week ‌ a) The basic work week of an employee working full- time shall be forty (40) hours consisting of five eight hour days; b) Daily hours of work shall be consecutive with the exception of rest and meal periods. No split shifts shall be worked; c) Employees shall not work longer than their regular, scheduled work day, unless requested to do so by Management; in which event, additional time will be paid at applicable regular or overtime rates. Employees are required to leave the store as soon as it is reasonable to do so.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Regular Work Week The regular work week shall be any five (5) consecutive days, Sunday through Saturday, for a total regular work week of forty (40) working hours, subject to the applicable premiums where provided for in this Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, employees may volunteer to work schedules that fall outside of the regular work week of Sunday through Saturday and may do so, upon approval by the Company, and with no penalty cost to the Company, but with applicable premiums as provided for in this Agreement.

  • Normal Work Week The normal work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1/2) hours, and the normal daily hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours, exclusive of a meal period. The normal work week shall be Monday through Friday and the normal workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Public Holidays falling within Annual Leave (a) If a Public Holiday, as prescribed in this Agreement, falls within an Employee’s Annual Leave the Public Holiday does not constitute part of the Employee’s Annual Leave and will be paid as ordinary hours.
