Graduate Credit Reimbursement. The Board will pay one hundred fifty ($150) per hour for classes taken after eighteen (18) semester hours beyond the BA or continuing certificate, whichever comes first. These classes must be approved by the Superintendent and must apply to the teacher’s present or projected future teaching/administrative assignment. Teachers must receive a minimum grade of “B” to receive reimbursement. The maximum Board contribution (total staff pool) shall be six thousand dollars ($6,000) each year. All requests for reimbursement of tuition, with proof of successful passing of the class, shall be made in writing to the Superintendent and be submitted not later than June 1st of a school year. Reimbursement for classes taken during the summer may be submitted for approval during the subsequent school year. A tally will be provided, on request, of the total credit hours currently approved for the fiscal year. The payment shall be made to all qualifying requests submitted by June 1st. If requests exceed the six thousand dollar ($6,000) amount allowed by contract, the total amount shall be prorated on a credit hour basis by dividing the total hours of credit payment requested into the amount and paying that amount per credit hour to all approved requests. Any unused graduate credit subsidy mentioned above will be used on a prorata basis to help defray tuition costs of teachers who have less than eighteen (18) hours of graduate credit. Graduate Credit Reimbursement. The Board of Education supports the ongoing professional growth of teachers and to that end will contribute four thousand dollars $4,000 annually into a professional learning credits account and that will be non-cumulative. Application to receive monies from this account will adhere to the criteria as outlined on the agreed upon application form. A list for disbursement, along with appropriate documentation must be received in Central Office by June 15th.

The payment shall be made to all qualifying requests with the last regular pay of the fiscal year in June. If requests exceed the two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500.00) amount allotted by contract, the total amount shall be prorated on a credit hour basis by dividing the total hours of credit payment requested into the two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500.00) and paying that amount per credit hour to all approved requests. A six- (6) semester hour limit per applicant will exist. Any unused graduate credit subsidy mentioned above would be used on a pro-rata basis to help defray tuition costs of teachers who have less than (18) semester hours of graduate credit. Teachers must receive a minimum grade of “B” to receive reimbursement. All requests for reimbursement of tuition, with proof of successful passing of class, shall be made in writing to the Superintendent and be submitted not later than one week (five (5) working days) prior to the final pay date in June. The hundred dollars ($100.00) per semester hour limit will apply for these semester hours. A six- (6) semester hour limit per applicant will exist. A six hundred dollar ($600) limit per applicant per year will exist. The Board will not exceed the actual cost of tuition in any of the above mentioned graduate credit reimbursement opportunities. Teachers will not be permitted to receive both Board subsidy at an hourly rate for participating in training and tuition subsidy for the same training as well. The individual teacher shall be permitted to make the choice.

Graduate Credit Reimbursement. Effective with the commencement of this Agreement, the School District shall reimburse each Employee who is not otherwise reimbursed at the lesser of the actual cost or the State System of Higher Education in-state graduate tuition rate in effect at the time the course was initiated for each qualifying graduate credit earned by said Employee up to a maximum of twelve (12) in any one school budget year. The following shall be required to qualify a credit for reimbursement:

Courses must receive prior approval by the Superintendent, be taken at an accredited college or university, and shall be reimbursed to the Principal at no more than five thousand dollars ($5,000) per school year. These graduate credit reimbursement funds are not cumulative and will not carryover to the next contract year. For each additional $1,000 over $3,000 reimbursement, Xxx. Xxxxxxxxx will commit to an additional year of employment by the school district. If she leaves before she completes her commitment, she will reimburse the school district for monies received above $3,000. However, if the Board does not rehire Xxx. Xxxxxxxxx for those additional years, she will not be required to reimburse the school district.
