Graduate Credit Reimbursement. 1. The Board will pay up to three hundred dollars ($300) per credit hour for the first eighteen (18) semester hours beyond the B.A. /B.S. certificate. These classes must be approved in advance by the Superintendent and must apply to the teacher’s present or projected future teaching/administrative assignment. Teachers must receive a minimum grade of “B” to receive reimbursement. The maximum Board contribution (total staff pool) shall be twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) each year. All requests for reimbursement of tuition, with proof of successful passing of the class, shall be made in writing to the Superintendent and be submitted not later than June 15th. A tally will be provided, on request, of the total credit hours currently approved for the fiscal year. The payment shall be made to all qualifying requests submitted by June 15th. If requests exceed the twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) amount allowed by contract, the total amount shall be prorated on a credit hour basis by dividing the total hours of credit payment requested into the amount and paying that amount per credit hour to all approved requests. A six (6) semester hour limit per applicant per year will exist. Tuition reimbursement will be through accounts payable, not through payroll.
2. The Board will reimburse up to six credits every five years for continuing certification if a balance remains from Article XVIII, J (1). If necessary, this will be subject to proration of those applying for reimbursement for continuing certification.
Graduate Credit Reimbursement. The Board of Education supports the ongoing professional growth of teachers and to that end will contribute four thousand dollars $4,000 annually into a professional learning credits account and that will be non-cumulative. Application to receive monies from this account will adhere to the criteria as outlined on the agreed upon application form. The management of this account will be the responsibility of the Association. The superintendent will approve final payment authorization. A list for disbursement, along with appropriate documentation must be received in Central Office by June 15th.
Graduate Credit Reimbursement. Unit members may be reimbursed for three (3) graduate credits per semester for a maximum of six (6) credits per school year, for pre-approved, job related courses. To receive reimbursement the unit member must take a course related to his/her job, the course must receive prior approval of the Superintendent and the Unit Member must present proof of a passing grade in the course.
Graduate Credit Reimbursement. Graduate credit will be reimbursed at one-half (50%) for classes pre-approved by the superintendent at a state college or university above the first eighteen (18) earned beyond the BA/BS degree, when proof of passing is provided to the board. The District will pay up to fifty percent (50%) of twelve (12) credit hours per year. For private or out of state college or university reimbursement, an average of per credit hour of tuition from five state universities will be calculated. The five (5) universities are Central Michigan, Saginaw Valley State, Grand Valley State, Western Michigan, and Michigan State.

These classes must be approved in advance by the Superintendent and must apply to the teacher’s present or anticipated future teaching/administrative assignment. Teachers must receive a minimum grade of “B” to receive reimbursement. The maximum Board contribution (total staff pool) shall be two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500.00) per year. All requests for reimbursement of tuition with proof of successful passing of the class, shall be made in writing to the Superintendent and be submitted not later than one week (five (5) working days) prior to the final pay date in June. A tally will be provided, on request, of the total credit hours currently approved for the fiscal year. The payment shall be made to all qualifying requests with the last regular pay of the fiscal year in June. If requests exceed the two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500.00) amount allotted by contract, the total amount shall be prorated on a credit hour basis by dividing the total hours of credit payment requested into the two thousand five hundred dollars ($2500.00) and paying that amount per credit hour to all approved requests. A six- (6) semester hour limit per applicant will exist. Any unused graduate credit subsidy mentioned above would be used on a pro-rata basis to help defray tuition costs of teachers who have less than (18) semester hours of graduate credit. Teachers must receive a minimum grade of “B” to receive reimbursement. All requests for reimbursement of tuition, with proof of successful passing of class, shall be made in writing to the Superintendent and be submitted not later than one week (five (5) working days) prior to the final pay date in June. The hundred dollars ($100.00) per semester hour limit will apply for these semester hours. A six- (6) semester hour limit per applicant will exist. A six hundred dollar ($600) limit per applicant per year will exist. The Board will not exceed the actual cost of tuition in any of the above mentioned graduate credit reimbursement opportunities. Teachers will not be permitted to receive both Board subsidy at an hourly rate for participating in training and tuition subsidy for the same training as well. The individual teacher shall be permitted to make the choice.
Graduate Credit Reimbursement. The School Business Administrator/Board Secretary will be entitled to tuition and expense reimbursement for graduate level courses taken within the scope of her job responsibilities and provided she achieves a “B” average or better. Courses must receive prior approval by the Superintendent, be taken at an accredited college or university, and shall be reimbursed to the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary at no more than two thousand dollars ($2,000) per school year. In the event that the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary does not use the entire allocation, the amount remaining shall roll over to the subsequent school year. The total allocation for tuition reimbursement in any subsequent school year shall never exceed $5,000.
Graduate Credit Reimbursement. The Employer shall reimburse each teaching employee who holds an Instructional I Certificate or higher for all graduate or approved undergraduate credits earned during the term of this Collective Bargaining Agreement according to the following formula:

Effective with the commencement of this Agreement, the School District shall reimburse each Employee who is not otherwise reimbursed at the lesser of the actual cost or the State System of Higher Education in-state graduate tuition rate in effect at the time the course was initiated for each qualifying graduate credit earned by said Employee up to a maximum of twelve (12) in any one school budget year. The following shall be required to qualify a credit for reimbursement:
(a) The credit shall have the prior approval of the School District and thereafter shall be earned at a fully accredited institution, the credits of which are acceptable for Pennsylvania teacher certification;
(b) Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the School District, the credit shall be in an area in which the Employee has Pennsylvania teacher certification;
(c) The Employee shall have received a satisfactory grade for the credit (B or better); and
Graduate Credit Reimbursement. The Principal will be entitled to tuition and expense reimbursement for graduate level courses taken within the scope of his job responsibilities and provided he achieves a “B” average or better. Courses must receive prior approval by the Superintendent, be taken at an accredited college or university, and shall be reimbursed to the Principal at no more than five thousand ($5,000) per school year.
