Hazardous Weather. A teacher who is unable to arrive at his/her workplace or designated workplace due to hazardous weather may have up to three (3) days in any one school year. Such requests must state the reason for absence, and approval is at the sole discretion of the Director, or designate.
Hazardous Weather. The parties recognize that the employees in this bargaining unit are essential employees. The parties recognize that the University does not stop providing services when inclement weather impacts campus and all employees covered under this Agreement are expected to report to his/her regularly scheduled shift. When the weather conditions pose a significant risk of injury, death or loss of property to employees covered under this Agreement, the Employer will take steps to minimize the risk.
Hazardous Weather. Employees shall suffer no loss of pay in the event of hazardous weather which necessitates closing the Employer's work site. In the event the facility is not operated and van drivers are not advised it is not necessary to report, they will be provided two (2) hours report pay, or such hours they actually worked if that time exceeds two (2) hours.

For the purpose of implementing the provisions of the preceding paragraph A above, the Department Director, or his designated representative, shall determine if employees are to work or not and notify the news media only if they are not to report to work. In the event the weather conditions materially worsen during the work period, the director or representative shall confer with the appropriate union xxxxxxx regarding weather conditions. However, in the event that there are two (2) or more days within a contract year (August 31st through August 30th) in which bargaining unit employees are notified by the University to not attend work, and the employees subsequently did not attend work due to hazardous weather, the University and the Union shall meet and discuss the potential modification of the hazardous weather policy if a meeting is requested by Union.
Hazardous Weather. A teacher who is unable to arrive at his/her workplace due to hazardous weather shall communicate by telephone to his or her principal or vice-principal. Such communication must include the current situation and probability of getting to work at a later time.
Hazardous Weather. (A) Humanitarian guidelines respecting the responsibilities of the parties in case of adverse or extreme weather conditions that affect the health and personal safety of members shall be of prime consideration. Both parties agree to enter into discussions to develop individual memorandums of understanding for each work unit in the bargaining unit to determine their particular working procedures and conditions during hazardous weather.
(B) After consultation with A.F.S.C.M.E., the City shall, at its sole discretion, determine when such hazardous conditions exist.
(C) A.F.S.C.M.E. and the employees acknowledge the importance of maintaining the work schedule so as not to inconvenience the public.
(D) If the employer finds it necessary to close the facility because of a declared emergency or other unforeseen conditions, employees will receive the compensation they would have received for all hours which they were scheduled to work but did not work due to such closing.
Hazardous Weather. Tenant hereby agrees that, in the event that Landlord determines in the reasonable exercise of its discretion that the Premises are threatened by hazardous weather such as a hurricane or severe storm, Tenant shall make all reasonable efforts to protect the Premises and surrounding areas from damage from said weather. This may include, but not be limited to, installing storm shutters (where available), removing loose signs, decorations or debris, and cooperating with the Landlord’s agents, building managers, and maintenance personnel in order to complete storm preparation tasks.

If the employee does not work, he or she shall be able to use vacation, personal leave, or compensatory time to cover such non-work time; otherwise, the employee will be in an unpaid status for such time. The final decision regarding the employees’ working shall be made by the director or representative. If employees are sent home after reporting to work, they shall receive full pay for such day.
Hazardous Weather. The Agency will make an effort to communicate the hazardous weather status to employees with as much as advance notice as possible. If an employee is unable to report for duty due to hazardous weather, employees are expected to follow the established call in policies currently in place and provide notification as soon as possible prior to the start of the shift. 1. The Agency will request volunteers for the creation of a “hazardous weather” staffing crew. These employees would be identified to provide coverage for hazardous weather incidents and may be utilized in the event that the regularly scheduled employees cannot report for duty.
