LEAVE SCHEDULES AND ACCRUALS SECTION A – HOLIDAYS. ‌‌‌ 1. For all employees, the following shall be observed as paid holidays: New Year’s Day Labor Day Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day Veteran’s Day Presidents’ Day Thanksgiving Day Memorial Day The Day Following Thanksgiving Day Independence Day Christmas Day Floating Holiday Unpaid Holidays (2) 2. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be observed on the following Monday. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it shall be observed the preceding Friday. 3. The Floating holiday shall be taken by an employee, including a probationary employee, at any time during the calendar year, with prior approval of the employee’s Department Director or his/her designee. The Floating holiday shall not accumulate from year to year. 4. Paid holidays begin on the date of hire. Employees who are on leave without pay for more than one-half of their scheduled shift the working day before or the working day after a holiday shall not receive compensation for that holiday. 5. Regular and probationary part-time employees shall receive pro-rated holiday pay, based upon an employee's full-time equivalent (FTE) status, as established and approved by the Employing Official and the Kitsap County Budget Office. 6. If a non-exempt employee is required to work on one of the paid observed holidays, he/she shall receive his/her regular rate of pay for the hours worked and an additional day of annual leave (eight [8] hours) for each holiday; provided, non-exempt employees who work on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, shall be paid the regular hourly rate for the hours worked plus either, at the option of the employee, an amount equal to one and one-half (1-1/2) the regular hourly rate of the employee or one and one-half (1-1/2) compensatory time off for each hour actually worked on the holiday. This compensation shall be in lieu of receipt of a paid eight (8) hours of holiday compensation set forth in Subsection 1 of this Section. 7. If a holiday falls on an employee’s regularly scheduled day off, that employee receives annual leave based on the employee’s established FTE status. 8. Employees may take two unpaid holidays at any time during the calendar year, with prior approval of the Director or his/her designee, in accordance with State Senate Xxxx 5173. Employees may take unpaid holidays for reasons of faith or conscience or an organized activity conducted under the auspices of a religious denomination, organization, or church. For all Employees, the following shall be observed as paid holidays: Commonly called: New Year's Day Labor Day Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Day Veterans' Day Presidents' Day Thanksgiving Day and Following Day Memorial Day Christmas Day Independence Day Two Floating Holidays 2. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be observed on the following Monday. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it shall be observed the preceding Friday. 3. The floating holidays shall be taken by an Employee at any time during the calendar year with prior approval of the Employer. The floating holiday shall not accumulate from year to year. 4. Paid holidays begin on the date of hire. Employees must be in a paid status the day before and the day after the holiday to receive compensation for that holiday. 5. Regular employees who qualify to receive holiday pay, will receive holiday pay whether or not the holiday is worked. Floating holidays must be used in full increments (i.e., 8 hours for full-time).   • Wage Schedules The Parties shall, upon completing a wage adjustment calculation, forthwith prepare, publish, post and distribute a wage schedule resulting therefrom. The final determination of the wage schedules shall be issued no later than the 7th day of March or September, for the May and November adjustments, respectively.

  • Vacation Schedules (a) Employees shall submit their vacation requests to their supervisor on or before: (1) November 1st for the period January 1 through April 30th; and (2) March 1st for the period May 1st through December 31st. (b) An employee who does not exercise his/her seniority rights by the cut-off dates stipulated above, shall not be entitled to exercise those rights in respect to any vacation time previously selected by an employee with less seniority. (c) Vacation schedules, once posted, shall not be changed except in cases of emergency with the mutual agreement of the Employer and employee.

  • Vacation Schedule 1. Vacation periods shall be fixed by the Employer to suit the requirements of his business, but as far as possible and practicable, vacations will be given during the summer months, and for employees with school-age children, during the school vacations. Vacation periods shall be unbroken unless by mutual consent between Employer and employee, or where it is impractical. Grievances relating to this Section shall be subject to the Adjustment and Arbitration Procedure in this Agreement. 2. Time off, based upon service in the Industry Vacation Plan, may be granted to an employee by mutual agreement between the Employer and the employee. The Employer shall not be required to give time off based upon service under the Industry Vacation Plan. However, if such additional industry vacation time off is granted to an employee, such time off shall be counted as time worked for the purpose of computing the employee's earned vacation benefits on his next anniversary date of employment.

  • Wage Schedule The pay rate (including increments and stated extras) as agreed to and hereinafter in this Schedule provided, shall be in effect during the term of the Agreement.
