Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.
Casual Leave (a) Employees may be granted casual leave with pay to a maximum of two (2) hours for the following purposes:
Legal Leave 19.12.1The University shall grant leave of absence with pay to a member of faculty who is called to serve as a juror or a witness in a court of law in a matter in which he/she is not a party or an accused.
Civil Leave Section 1. The Employer recognizes the responsibility of its employees to fulfill their civic duties as jurors and witnesses in court proceedings. The Employer agrees therefore to grant civil leave with pay to permanent employees:
Sabbatical Leave The purpose of a sabbatical leave is to enhance professional development, support department/unit goals, and/or meet the instructional, service, or research priorities of the university.
General Leave Notwithstanding any provision for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee requesting leave for an emergency or other unusual circumstances. A leave of absence may also be granted for any other reason in which case approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. All requests and approvals for leave shall be in writing. Upon request, the Employer will give reasons orally for withholding approval.
Special Leave (a) Where leave from work is required, an employee shall be entitled to special leave at their regular rate of pay for the following:
Sabbatical Leaves 49. Members taking their first Sabbatical Leave after a probationary period at The University of Western Ontario shall receive 90.0% of their Base Salary; Members taking their second or subsequent Sabbatical Leave from The University of Western Ontario shall receive 85.0% of their Base Salary.
Funeral Leave Section 30.1 In the event of the death of a parent, spouse, child, sister, brother, mother-in- law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent of the Employee or spouse, grandchild of the Employee, or “xxxxxx” or “step” situations within these relationships, the Employee shall be allowed a leave of absence with pay of two (2) consecutive (eight or ten hour) workdays.
Annual Leave (a) An employee may elect with the consent of the employer, subject to the Annual Xxxxxxxx Xxx 0000, to take annual leave not exceeding five days in single day periods or part thereof, in any calendar year at a time or times agreed by the parties.
