Lunch and Relief Periods. 1. Each regular full-time Employee shall have a one-hour lunch period. The lunch schedule will be in accordance with the operational needs of the administrative unit. The lunch period shall be without pay. 2. Each regular full-time Employee shall have a fifteen (15) minute relief period, prior to and following the lunch period. These relief periods shall be with pay and scheduled in accordance with the operational needs of the administrative unit. 3. The lunch period is not included in the thirty-seven and one-half (37-1/2) hour work week; the relief period is included. 4. Lunch and relief periods cannot be accumulated, nor shall they be used for any other purpose, such as make-up time, to lengthen the lunch hour, or to shorten the work day.

Lunch and Relief Periods. Each employee shall receive a lunch period of one hour approximately one-halfway through the workday. Each employee shall receive a relief period of not to exceed fifteen (15) minutes approximately one-halfway through the morning and afternoon shifts of each workday. Employees will strictly observe the lunch and relief periods as scheduled, unless otherwise agreed between the Employer and the employee.

The aforementioned break/recess period shall be integrated into a building supervision program of related physical activity for students, which is to the mutual agreement of the building principal and employees of the individual buildings. Except for the duty free lunch period as prescribed by the School Code, and recess periods above, when not on duty, and a scheduled preparation period within the regular school day, an employee is accountable for all time during the work day. Any time that student contact is not scheduled may be used according to the employee’s professional judgment. It might include such instructional and supervisory duties as: conferences with parents, pupils, supervisors or administrators; lesson preparations and planning; maintaining records; and directing student activities. Any time a specialized teacher who, by providing itinerant services to the entire elementary classroom (i.e., classroom music, chorus, physical education, art, etc.) is absent, the Administration will make every possible effort to hire a qualified substitute. The reading room schedule will include shared 30 minute planning times each Friday, or on the last day of any week, in which the classroom teacher and reading teacher work together to collaboratively plan the following week’s differentiated reading lessons.

  • Probationary Periods Employees transferring to a different title will serve a six (6) calendar month probationary period. In the event the probationary period is not satisfactorily completed, the affected employee shall be returned to Job Bank assignment and the employee’s “bumping”, layoff or transfer rights under the Agreement or other applicable authority shall be restored to the same extent such rights existed prior to the employee taking the probationary position. Upon the affected employee’s first such return to the Job Bank, the employee shall be entitled to remain in the Job Bank for the greater of ten (10) business days, or the duration of the applicable Job Bank period, as determined under Article I, paragraph 2, that remained as of the date the employee began in the probationary position. The rate of compensation for the remainder of the employee’s time in the Job Bank will be the same as the rate in effect as of the employee’s last day in the probationary position. Return to the Job Bank terminates the employee’s work in the probationary assignment and, therefore, time served following the return to the Job Bank shall not be construed to count toward the completion of the probationary period.

  • Contract Transition Upon Contract expiration or termination, the Contractor shall ensure a seamless transfer of Contract responsibilities with any subsequent Contractor necessary to transition the Products and services of the Contract. The incumbent Contractor assumes all expenses related to the contract transition.

  • Vacation Periods Vacation schedules will be set by the employee’s immediate supervisor(s) and sent to the Office of Human Resources for approval. Employees may request a particular period for vacation. Vacation days may not be taken in advance of their accrual. Those employees who are on a 12-month teacher contract are paid during Spring Break and Winter Recess, however, are not expected to be in attendance or perform duties during those breaks.

  • Extended Leave of Absence Professional employees who have attained renewable contract status may request extended leaves of absence for one (1) year without pay under any one of the circumstances listed in this section. All requests for such extended leave of absence will be applied for and granted or rejected in writing. Such application will be reviewed by the principal and superintendent. If the latter approves, he/she will recommend that the leave be granted by the Board. An employee returning from an extended leave will be assigned to the same position as that which he/she held before assuming the leave, providing that position still exists. By mutual agreement between the employer and the employees, he/she may be given a different assignment. Extended leaves of absence may be requested under, but not limited to, the following: 1. To serve in a county, state, or national public office. 2. To care for a sick member of the immediate family. 3. To serve as an exchange teacher or an overseas teacher. 4. To accept a sabbatical leave.
