Nurse Unit Manager. A Registered Nurse Division 1 appointed as a Nurse Unit Manager and paid as such. Thereafter the rate of pay for this classification shall be the Grade 5 (201-400 beds). A Registered Nurse Division 1 appointed as a Clinical Consultant D and paid as such. The rate of pay for this classification shall be at the Grade 6 (301-400 beds). A Registered Nurse Division appointed as a Clinical Consultant £ and paid as such. The rate of pay for this classification shall be the Grade 7 (401-500 beds). Nurse/patient ratios will not apply in respect of chemotherapy, dialysis, admission centres and day procedure centres or day surgery wards or units. Nurse Unit Manager. (Level 3/4)
a) The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the xxxx / unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital /facility.
b) The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will provide operational direction for the unit / xxxx to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition, he/ she will be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.
c) Where indicated the NUM will participate in the marketing initiatives of the hospital / facility to promote growth, help identify clinical areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external clinical forums.
d) The NUM will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.
e) The NUM will work as part of the health care team, adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures and key performance indicators, participate in working parties or committees (as required) demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement through National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS), Workplace Health and Safety and achievement of hospital / facility accreditation.
f) The NUM will take an active role in the management of WHS issues pertaining to the unit so as to ensure safe work environment and safe practice for staff.
g) The NUM will maintain a professional development portfolio with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
Nurse Unit Manager. Despite any other provisions of this Agreement, there must be one EFT Nurse Unit Manager appointed in each xxxx/unit at each of the hospitals the Employer operates in Victoria. Two or more part time Nurse Unit Managers may be appointed so long as 1 EFT of Nurse Unit Manager hours are worked in the shared position.
Nurse Unit Manager. Coordinates the delivery of care in a clinical unit and is responsible and accountable for the management of resources within a management unit; Clinical Nurse Educator Is responsible for the conduct, evaluation and planning of education programmes and/or staff development for a specified group of nurses, or education programmes for patients/clients and others. Registered Nurse - Xxxxx 0X means a Registered Nurse appointed as such who may be referred to as the After Hours Nursing Coordinator or Evening, Night or Weekend Supervisor and is accountable for the overall provision of patient/client/resident care and the management of resources. Registered Nurse - Level 4 means a Registered Nurse who is appointed as such and may be referred to as the Nursing Services Coordinator. Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse/midwife appointed to the role; has obtained an additional qualification relevant to the regulating authority to enable them to become licensed Nurse practitioners. A Nurse practitioner is authorised to function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role. Registered Nurse - Level 5 means a Registered Nurse who is appointed as Director of Nursing/Director of Clinical Services and who is a member of the executive management team, responsible and accountable for the overall coordination of the Nursing Division.
Nurse Unit Manager. A Registered Nurse in charge of a unit and who is appointed to undertake the functions of a Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) as prescribed in Appendix B (whether only some of these functions are performed in that shift) will be paid at the Grade 5 rate. Provided that if a Registered Nurse in charge of a unit is not willing to undertake the range of duties of a NUM, they will be paid at the Grade 4 rate.
Nurse Unit Manager. (NUM) (Extended Care) Where an Employee is appointed as Nurse Unit Manager The minimum weekly salary for a Nurse Unit Manager shall be at the Grade 5 (13-50 beds).
(a) In addition to this amount an Associate Nurse Unit Manager shall be paid the following in respect to approved beds over which responsibility is exercised:
(i) an additional 0.065% of the minimum base weekly salary per bed for each approved bed to 50 beds: plus;
(ii) an additional 0.065% of the minimum base weekly salary per bed for each approved bed from 51 to 100: plus;
(iii) an additional 0.032% of the minimum base weekly salary per bed for each approved bed above 100 beds.
Nurse Unit Manager. (NUM) (Residential Aged Care Facility) Nurse Unit Manager means a Registered Nurse appointed by Baptcare to exercise managerial and clinical responsibility over a unit or section of an Aged Care facility, usually during the AM shift. Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Managing staff and resources within the unit or section
2. Ensuring the provision of appropriate clinical and personal care to residents within the unit/section
3. Ensuring that clinical and care standards are maintained, including legislated or regulatory obligations.
Nurse Unit Manager. Mount District Hospital has a fulltime Nurse Unit Manager, Grade 4B, Year 3 position. Each xxxx/unit has a Nurse Unit Manager.
