Grade 5. 6.1 Employees in this grade shall be capable of performing tasks, including those of the lower grades, using a more extensive range of skills and knowledge at a level higher than in Grade 4. They work under minimal supervision and may have limited responsibility for the work of others. They apply initiative, discretion and judgement in making decisions and resolving problems in their own function area.
6.2 Employees will be graded at this level where the principal functions of their employment, as determined by the Company require the exercise of any one or more of the following skills:
a) quality control support and assessment within own function area x.x. xxxxx runs of reports, maintenance of key statistics, reconciliations, stocktakes and archiving.
b) responding to enquiries within established internal/external regulatory parameters and polices (detailed issues/arrangements) and providing detailed advice and information on products and services to:
i. service centre operators in lower grades; ii. clients; iii. administration staff; and
Grade 5. A Grade 5 position is described as follows:
(a) The employee may be supervised by professional staff and may be responsible for the planning and management of the work of others.
(b) An employee at this grade applies knowledge with substantial depth in some areas, and a range of skills, which may be varied or highly specific. The employee may receive assistance with specific problems.
(c) An employee at this grade applies knowledge and skills independently and non- routinely. Judgement and initiative are required.

Grade 5. An employee at this level:
(a) may be responsible for the planning and management of work of others;
(b) applies knowledge with substantial depth in some areas and a range of skills which may be varied or highly specific;
(c) applies knowledge and skills independently and non-routinely; and
(d) exercises considerable judgement and initiative. The following tasks are indicative of those performed by an employee at this level:

Usually applies knowledge and skills independently and non- routinely and is required to exercise judgement and initiative.

Grade 5. An employee at this grade has undertaken stores work of all lower grades and who has, at the request of the Company, completed the Warehousing and Distribution Course (No. 8502) at a Registered Training Organisation. An employee who is appointed by the Company to this level may be required to perform the following, in addition to the work performed by other grades:
(a) implement quality control techniques and procedures;
(b) utilise highly developed level of interpersonal and communication skills;
(c) assist in the provision of on-the-job training and standards.
Grade 5. 8.5.1 A Grade 5 position is described as follows:

(ii) An employee at this grade applies knowledge with substantial depth in some areas, and a range of skills, which may be varied or highly specific. The employee may receive assistance with specific problems.
