Ordinary Hours of Duty. 9.1.1 An employee’s ordinary hours of duty shall be 7 hours and 30 minutes per day to be worked in accordance with this clause. 9.1.2 Subject to clause 9.1.3, an employee may work their ordinary hours of duty at any time over the period 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, subject to the agreement of the employee’s supervisor and operational requirements. 9.1.3 An employee will not be compelled to work their ordinary hours outside of the recognised customer service hours for their work area, or 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday where customer service hours do not apply.

Ordinary Hours of Duty. Special Engagement 16.10.1 Notwithstanding the provisions of 15.1 to 15.1.9, 16.1 and 16.9 of this clause, the ordinary hours of duty of employees in the following categories of employment may be in accordance with 16.9.1 (a) to 16.9.1(d) inclusive of this Part of this clause, or else in accordance with Clause 15.1 to 15.1.9, 16.1 or 16.9 of this clause. 16.10.2 In the case of a full-time employee, 38 hours per week to be worked not more than eight hours per day in continuous periods (except for a meal-break) on any five consecutive days of the calendar week; or 16.10.3 In the case of a full-time employee, according to a roster agreed upon between the employee or (if more than one employee is directly concerned) a majority of the employees directly concerned and the employer; provided that the ordinary hours fixed by any such roster will not exceed 38 in any one-week period, or alternatively 76 in any consecutive two-week period, or alternatively 114 in any consecutive three-week period, or alternatively 152 in any consecutive four-week period. The ordinary hours of duty of an employee on any day when the Employee is rostered for work will be the hours specified by that roster for that day. Rosters may only be altered on three weeksnotice by the employer or by agreement between the employer and employee. (c) At the issue of a roster, the acquittal period shall not exceed the intended operational period of the roster. (d) Airservices will make all reasonable endeavours on request by the employee to advise of the hours they have acquitted over a given period to ensure compliance with this clause.

Changes to work cycles established in accordance with clause 63.2 are subject to consultation in accordance with clause 24. 63.3 The ordinary hours of duty for employees other than shift employees will be worked: (a) on any or all of the days of the week, Monday to Friday; and (b) continuously, except for meal breaks, between 8.00am and 6.00pm. 63.4 The ordinary hours of duty for shift employees will: (a) be worked continuously each shift except for meal breaks; (b) not exceed 10 hours inclusive of meal breaks in any single shift; and (c) be worked in accordance with clause 67. 63.5 Staff may agree, in writing, on schemes of shift arrangement which may not attract shift allowance, provided that under these arrangements, no employee will be mandatorily required to work a shift which extends beyond 6.00pm, Monday to Friday without payment of shift penalty. 63.6 Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Agreement, RMIT may during the period Monday to Friday, and by agreement with the employee(s) concerned establish an arrangement for extended shifts of up to nine hours thirty minutes (exclusive of meal breaks) which would not attract shift penalty. Provided that an employee so agreeing would not be required to work on more than 80% of the ordinary working days (Monday to Friday).
