OVERTIME AND PREMIUM RATES. 1. Workday For purposes of determining overtime hours worked, an employee’s workday begins when the employee starts work and ends twenty-four (24) hours later.
OVERTIME AND PREMIUM RATES. (A) Overtime Rates
(a) Overtime rates shall be paid at the rate of one and one half (1 1/2 x) times the regular rate of pay for the first three (3) consecutive hours and two times (2x) the regular rate of pay for all consecutive hours worked thereafter. An Employee who works overtime between the hours of 2400 and 0700 and such overtime is continuous with her regular shift, shall be paid at the rate of two times (2x) her regular rate for all hours so worked. An Employee who works on her scheduled day(s) off shall be paid at the rate of two times (2x) her regular rate for all hours so worked.
(b) Overtime rates shall be paid for:
(i) any hours worked in addition to eight (8) hours in any day or one hundred and twelve (112) hours in any three (3) week period;
(ii) any shift in excess of six (6) consecutive days; any shift changed within the posted and confirmed schedule as per Article 15.03 (c).
(c) Wherever possible, all overtime must be authorized by the Employer, and except in emergency situations, such overtime must be authorized in writing in advance. While overtime is continuous with an Employee's regular shift and the Employee elects to leave the workplace for a meal break, not to exceed two (2) hours, overtime pay shall be paid for all hours worked at the applicable rate of pay.
(B) Premium Rates
(a) Premium rates shall be paid in accordance with the overtime rates as set out in Articles 15.04 A (a).
(b) Premium rates shall be paid for any third Saturday or Sunday that an Employee is required to work in a three (3) week Period.
(c) Prior to commencing work on a third Saturday or Sunday, an Employee shall have the option of waiving Article 15.01 A (d), as it applies to the first or second Saturday and/or Sunday worked in that three (3) week period. The waiver shall be provided to the Employer in writing, with a copy to the union.
(d) Premium rates shall not be payable to an Employee for any hours for which the Employee is entitled to overtime pay pursuant to Article 15.04 A.
(e) Premium rates shall be paid for any shift changed within the posted and confirmed schedule as per Article 15.03 (c).

(a) Work performed on Sundays shall be paid at the rate of $5.00 per hour additional plus the straight time rate and fringe benefits provided that Sunday work is not mandatory and the Employee has the right to refuse work. No employee shall be asked to work more than 50% of the total Sundays in a calendar year.
(b) Work performed after 6:00 p.m. or before 6:00 a.m. on days other than Sunday shall earn premium pay of two dollars ($2.00) in addition to the straight time rate, plus fringe benefits.
(c) In the event of any overlapping of premium hours or overtime pay only the higher rate of pay will apply and will not be combined with other rates.
OVERTIME AND PREMIUM RATES. 8.1 As a general rule, the requirements of frequent and considerable scheduled overtime service in any organization unit shall be considered evidence of under-staffing or improper organization, and shall be subject to investigation by the City Manager. Any related decision of the City Manager shall be final. Overtime work shall include only that work performed by the employees at the direction of a Department Director or his/her authorized representative which exceeds standard work scheduled, and may be compensated as follows:

8.1.1 Overtime is all required and authorized work performed in excess of a full-time employee’s forty (40) hour weekly and/or daily scheduled work shift. A minimum of one (1) hour of overtime shall be paid for scheduled overtime, exclusive of holdover. Overtime may be scheduled without 24-hour notice (this is not considered a shift change or call-in). Overtime pay shall be at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular salary for:
1. Hours in excess of the scheduled full time work day;
2. Hours worked on scheduled days of rest;
3. More than one (1) scheduled overtime assignment for an employee within a twenty-four (24) hour period shall be paid at a minimum of one (1) hour of double time.
OVERTIME AND PREMIUM RATES. Overtime shall be paid to all employees who work in excess of eight (8) hours in any one (1) day or forty (40) hours in any one (1) week. Work beyond twelve (12) hours on any given shift, exclusive of lunch hour, shall be compensated for at the rate of double time (2x) the regular rate of pay. Nothing herein contained shall prevent the Employer and the Union from establishing or continuing a mutually satisfactory system regarding overtime and seniority.

(a) For all hours worked beyond eight (8) in any one (1) day by any Employee, double their regular rate for all hours worked.
(b) With the exception of regular part-time and casual Employees who may work a sixth (6th) day to maximize their hours to forty (40) in a work week, at regular rate of pay, all hours worked by any Employee on the sixth (6th) consecutive day of their work week, one and one-half (1 2) times their regular rate shall be paid for the first (1st) hour and double their regular rate for all hours worked thereafter.
(c) For all hours worked by any Employee on the seventh (7th) day of their work week, two (2) times their regular rate.
(d) All overtime must be pre-approved.
