Shift Posting. The Employer shall post the time of on-duty and off-duty shifts including statutory holidays, at least fourteen (14) calendar days in advance and, where possible, twenty-eight (28) calendar days in advance. Should the Employer change the shift schedule and not give fourteen (14) days' notice in advance to the affected employees of the change in schedule, then the employee so affected will be paid at the applicable overtime rate for all time worked on the first day of the shift posting change. Where the Employer and employee concerned agree, the requirement for fourteen (14) calendar days of advance notice may be waived. The waiver may operate to allow an employee who starts work earlier than their normal start time to go home early but only after the completion of the normal hours of work.

(ii) In the event that the shift schedule is not adhered to for reasons that are within the control of the Company and an employee is assigned to shift coverage, then that employee shall be paid overtime for the first eight (8) hours worked. (iii) No employee shall be assigned to a shift for a period of less than ten (10) work days duration except where rearrangements of shifts are necessary in order to distribute holidays or annual vacations equitably, or when it is necessary to cover temporary absence of an employee due to sickness or accident disability, or to meet emergent business requirements. (i) The Company shall endeavour to minimize the number of shifts each individual is required to work. However, no individual shall be required to work more than 18 weeks of shifts a year.
