Paid Personal Holidays. It is agreed the two working days preceding and following the Christmas Shutdown period will not be available for scheduling of Paid Personal Holidays Employees with one-year seniority or more will be entitled to individually scheduled on the following basis with a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours notice:

Paid Personal Holidays. Regular full-time and regular part-time employees shall receive two paid “personal” holidays. Paid personal holidays shall accrue on January 1 of each year and must be taken during the calendar year in which accrued or the days will lapse except when an employee has requested and been approved use of the personal holiday(s) and the approval is later cancelled by the County. In such instances, with the recommendation of the appointing authority, the Human Resources Director may authorize the personal holiday(s) to be used within the month of January during the following calendar year. A personal holiday(s) carried forward in such manner may not be compensated in any form upon the separation of employment. Regular full-time and regular part-time employees hired on January 1 or the first workday following January 1 shall accrue and be eligible to use paid personal holidays during that year. Employees hired after the first workday of the year shall not be eligible to accrue or use paid personal holidays during that year. Employees eligible to use a paid personal holiday must request and receive approval by the appropriate supervisor to utilize the personal holidays. Once the personal holiday has been accrued, it may be used without regard to the requirement for paid status on the day before and after usage since paid status before and after was required for the holiday to be accrued. Employees, except new employees beginning work on January 1 or the first workday following January 1, must have been in a paid wage status of at least 70 percent on the workday immediately preceding and immediately following January 1 in order to accrue the holidays. Effective January 1, 1999, employees not in a paid wage status who are receiving time-loss payments under the County’s Workers’ Compensation program shall also accrue the paid holidays.
Paid Personal Holidays. Each employee will be granted P.P.H. days off as follows per year of the Agreement. These days shall not interfere with another employee who requests that day off.

Paid Personal Holidays. Beginning with the 2008-09 school year, all 27 members shall receive two (2) paid personal holidays per semester, which 28 may be used at the employee’s discretion. Written application to the 29 building principal shall be made at least two (2) days in advance except 30 in the case of emergencies. 32 Paid personal holidays days are non-cumulative, are not transferable to 33 the employee’s sick bank, and cannot be rolled over to subsequent 34 semesters or school years. Unused days will be paid at the employees’ 35 per diem rate in the first regular pay cycle following the pay cycle in 36 which the last day of the semester falls.

Employees may take any day as their paid personal day off subject to the limits defined below; Employees shall request in writing on available forms, one calendar week in advance, when pos- sible, for their personal days off. One (1) per contract year may be used on a call-in basis. Subject to the Company’s discretion, not more than (1 5) employees can be off on paid personal holidays at any given time. Applications will be granted on a “first come, first served” basis, subject to produc- tion and requirements. Subject to any overriding production and/or staffing employees may take their in con- secutive weeks, with a maximum of one scheduled per work week. Exceptions may be made to this rule as long as in the Company’s opinion production scheduling requirements are not com- promised. Personal days off shall not be taken in the months of July or August unless otherwise authorized by the Company. If there are employees laid-off due to shortage of work, the Company has the ability to issue and designate paid personal holidays not taken within the preceding month before the applicable contract year expires. Employees who do not take their entire allotment of days will not be compensated for any days re- maining unused.

Paid Personal Holidays. Employees with one (1) or more years seniority, shall receive three (3)paid person- al holidays in each contract year of this Agreement. Commencing April 1/96, there will be one (1) additional paid personal holi- day for each eligible employee. Personal days off shall not be taken in the months July or August unless otherwise authorized by the Company. Employees shall request in writing on avail- able forms, one (1) calendar week in advance, when possible, for their personal days off. A minimum of thirty (30) working days must separate each personal day off. A maximum of one (1) paid personal holiday may be used in the months of June and September, on each contract year by any employee. If the employee requesting a paid personal holiday jeopardize production or mainte- xxxxx staffing requirements, those applying will be given preference based on seniority and classification scheduling requirements.
