Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. Where a teacher is required by their employer to work a Public Holiday they shall be entitled to be paid in accordance with s50 of the Holidays Act 2003.
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. (a) An employee who works on a Public Holiday shall be entitled to their Ordinary Hourly rate plus a loading of 150% for all time worked.
(b) Casual employees who work on a Public Holiday shall be entitled to their Ordinary Hourly rate, exclusive of any casual loading, plus a loading of 150% for all time worked.
(c) An employee may elect in writing to accrue the 150% loading as time off in lieu. This means that for every hour worked on a Public Holiday, the employee receives their Ordinary Hourly rate plus one and a half hours time off in lieu.
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. An employee who works on a Public Holiday shall be entitled to their Ordinary Hourly rate plus a loading of 150% for all time worked.
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. Employees who work on a public holiday will be paid 150% in addition to a normal day’s pay, except where time worked exceeds a normal day, payment for all time worked in excess of normal day will be paid at 250%.
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. The employee shall be entitled to be paid for the time actually worked on a Public Holiday at the rate of time and a half of their relevant daily pay, or time and a half of the portion of average daily pay (if applicable) that relates to time actually worked on the day
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. If an employee works on a public holiday they will be entitled to receive the loading applicable for the relevant day. A 100% loading on top of the base ordinary hourly rate is attracted for work performed on:
(a) Christmas;
(b) Boxing day;
(c) Good Friday; and
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. Employees requested to work on a public holiday(s) will have the following options:
1. By agreement between the employer and the employee substitute another day for the Public Holiday(s) worked, or
2. Be paid time and a half for all hours worked and, in addition, take an amount of time off, (to be paid at ordinary rates) equal to the time worked, or
3. Be paid at ordinary rates for all hours worked and, in addition, accumulate one and a half times the hours worked as TOIL to be taken in accordance with clause 28.2. Rest breaks for work on public holidays will apply in accordance with clause 29.4 (rest break in relation to overtime). Where a shift commences between 11.20pm and midnight on a public holiday, the time so worked before midnight does not entitle the employee to the public holiday rate for the shift. However, the time worked by an employee on a shift commencing before midnight on the day preceding a public holiday and extending into the public holiday will be regarded as time worked on the public holiday. Where a shift falls partly on a public holiday, the shift that has the major portion falling on the public holiday will be regarded as the public holiday shift. Shift loadings will not apply for work performed on public holidays.
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. An employee not engaged on continuous work shall be paid at the rate of double time and a half for work on a public holiday, such double time and a half to continue until he/she is relieved from duty. An employee required to work on a public holiday shall be paid for a minimum of 4 hours' work at double time and a half. Should an employee be required to attend a call out on a public holiday it shall be paid at the rate of double time and a half.
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. Where an employee (other than a casual employee) actually works on a Public Holiday, the employee will receive any payment for the Public Holiday due pursuant to paragraph 5.1.2.1, and in addition, payment at time and a half on the ordinary rates of pay for the hours worked, provided that such payment for work actually performed is to be regarded as overtime and is not to be taken into account when calculating for any other entitlement under this Agreement. Provided that where a shift worker commences a shift on the day prior to a Public Holiday as defined in this sub-clause and continues to work ordinary hours into the Public Holiday no such work shall be regarded as work on a Public Holiday. Where a casual employee actually works on a Public Holiday, the employee will receive payment at the ordinary hourly rate plus 50% for the hours worked, provided that such payment for work actually performed is not to be taken into account when calculating for any other entitlement under this Agreement. During such work the 20% casual loading prescribed in paragraph 2.1.11 shall not be payable.
Payment for Work on a Public Holiday. 31.4.1 Where a public holiday falls on a day that is an Employee's ordinary working day and the Employee works, the Employee shall be paid in addition to payment for the public holiday as specified by clause 31.4.2, at the rate double time for each hour worked during the Employee's ordinary hours of work and the applicable overtime rate thereafter.
