Preliminary Design Services Sample Clauses
Preliminary Design Services. This task consists of all services necessary to take the project from beginning through the Preliminary Design submittal stage and may include the following itemized services.
Preliminary Design Services. 1. Consult with the Owner to define and clarify the Owner's Requirements for the Project, including the Owner’s budgetary limitations; to review the memorandum titled “Technical Requirements for UOSA Vehicle Service Station” dated August 2014 and prepared by the Owner (“Owner’s Requirements”); and to identify available data. Perform any environmental assessments needed at this stage. Any proposed changes to the Owner’s Requirements shall be documented by the Contractor and submitted to the Owner as proposed revisions to such August 2014 Technical Memorandum cited above. Any proposed changes approved in writing by the Owner shall be incorporated into the Technical Memorandum by the Contractor and the revised Technical Memorandum shall be the “Owner’s Requirements.”
2. Identify, consult with, and analyze requirements of governmental authorities having jurisdiction to approve the portions of the Project described by Contractor, including mitigating measures identified in the environmental assessment, if applicable.
3. Identify and evaluate alternate solutions available to the Owner and, after consultation with the Owner, recommend to the Owner those solutions which in the Contractor's judgment satisfy the Owner’s Requirements.
4. Perform or furnish Study and Report tasks or deliverables as follows:
a. Prepare a report (the "Basis of Design Report") which will, as appropriate, contain schematic layouts, sketches and conceptual design criteria, and appropriate exhibits; and indicate the applicable requirements, considerations involved, and recommended alternate solutions. This Basis of Design Report will be accompanied by Contractor's conceptual estimate of the DB Work cost for each recommended solution. The Contractor shall break down the conceptual cost estimate in a manner similar to how the Contractor will provide detailed estimates for the Cost of the DB Work in the Guaranteed Maximum Price proposal. This Report shall include descriptions of any deviations from Owner’s Requirements.
b. Furnish ten (10) review copies of a draft of the Report (and any other deliverables) to the Owner within sixty (45) days of authorization to begin services and review it with the Owner.
c. Revise the draft of the Report (and any other deliverables) in response to the Owner's comments, as appropriate, and furnish ten (10) copies of the Final Report (and any other deliverables) to the Owner within fifteen (15) days of receipt of the Owner’s comments.
d. Other additional tasks ...
Preliminary Design Services. All Preliminary Design Services shall be paid for in a Single Lump Sum. Upon receiving written authorization to proceed with the Preliminary Design Services, the Design Consultant shall:
a. Attend meetings with the County and/or its Project Manager as required, establishing the design parameters of the Project. These will include, but not limited to: • Preliminary Design Kickoff Meeting • Technical Review Committee Presentation (PER Meeting)
b. Participate in progress meetings with County and/or its Project Manager.
c. Perform Preliminary Engineering Investigations for the Project to include: • Geotechnical Investigation • Survey Data including existing right-of-way. • Drainage Impact & Mitigation Study
d. The Preliminary Design shall include: • Proposed Alignment • Proposed Right-of-way • Preliminary roadway layouts o Existing Elements in Plan & Profile o Proposed Elements in Plan Only • Utility investigation, conflict analysis, and utility conflict table • Preliminary drainage design • Estimated probable construction costs
e. Prepare a PowerPoint Presentation and attend a Technical Review Committee Meeting (PER Meeting) with the County and/or its Project Manager, presenting a summary of the information and findings from the preliminary design.
f. The Preliminary Engineering Report shall be prepared in sufficient detail to clearly indicate recommended alignment including right-of-way acquisitions, typical roadway cross-sections, existing utilities, storm sewer and any anticipated conflicts or design issues. The report shall address any comments from the Technical Review Committee. The report shall also present probable cost associated with the recommended improvements.
Preliminary Design Services a. Obtain and review available data relating to the Project; visit the site to observe existing conditions; and consult with the COUNTY to clarify and define the requirements for the project.
b. Review the survey, environmental, and geotechnical work as necessary for the engineering design.
c. Develop a preliminary design and prepare a Preliminary Site Plan for the proposed addition of a trail, concession building, pavilion, and beach access stairs improvements and the paving of north parking lot with associated drainage and utility improvements in compliance with the Pasco County development standards, FDEP standards, and ADA requirements, etc. The Preliminary Site Plan shall show the future locations of an observation tower and the maintenance building.
d. Review the Preliminary Site Plan with the COUNTY and make revisions based on the COUNTY’s comments and directions.
e. The PROFESSIONAL shall meet and review the Preliminary Site Plan with Pasco County Development Review staff regarding sufficiency requirements. Modify the plan(s) as required per City/County comments. One (1) formal pre- application meeting is included herein.
f. The PROFESSIONAL shall meet and review the Preliminary Site Plan with the FDEP staff regarding sufficiency requirements. Modify the plan(s) as required per FDEP comments. One (1) formal pre-application meeting is included herein.
g. Coordinate with the Survey, Environmental, and Architectural consultants as necessary to accomplish the Scope of Services.

Preliminary Design Services. 2.1. Develop roadway alignment and geometry for Xxxxxx Street/Business 63 between Xxxxxxxx Street and Xxxxxxxxx Street.
2.2. Develop roadway profile for Xxxxxx Street/Business 63 between Xxxxxxxx Street and Xxxxxxxxx Street.
2.3. Develop side road alignments and profiles including the intersections of Xxxxxxxx Street, Woodland Avenue, Xxxxxxxx Street, Xxxxx Street, Xxx Street, and Xxxxxxxxx Street.
2.4. Develop driveway geometry and profiles (assumes 40 driveways).
2.5. Develop sidewalk geometry and curb ramps.
2.6. Develop inlet locations, drainage areas, and perform pipe design calculations and pipe profile development based on xxxxxxx’x equation via the use of spreadsheets based on APWA and City of Xxxxxxx Storm Water Ordinance criteria.
2.7. Develop preliminary plans for the proposed improvements. Construction drawings will be prepared on 22" x 34" size sheets. The scale shall be as determined to be appropriate but will likely be 1”=20’. The preliminary submittal is anticipated to include:
