Research Associates. The salary scale of a research associate shall be as follows:

Research Associates a) All Research Associates shall enroll in employee benefit plans for which they are eligible according to the terms of those plans. Eligibility to participate in the benefit plans is dependent on the Research Associate’s current length of appointment, level of FTE and/or the number of hours worked in that appointment. Eligibility is not based upon the Research Associate’s cumulative service with the University and is determined by the duration of each appointment. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, once eligibility requirements are obtained, full-time benefits are maintained through continuous employment (i.e.: continuing from one appointment to the next without a break in service) as a Research Associate. Research Associates may be eligible for the following benefits:

Research Associates. Under the general direction of, and in collaboration with researchers and faculty members, positions at this level apply extensive knowledge in their field to perform high-level, complex research activities, and will normally hold a Master’s degree. Individuals with training beyond a Master’s degree who have limited experience may also be appointed into this classification level. Representative Duties and Responsibilities:

Research Assistants 1 hired on a full time or on a part time basis or Research Assistant 2 hired on a full time or on a part time basis, who works on a paid holiday will be entitled to an indemnity equal to one (1) day of the Salary they normally earn, in addition to the payment for hours worked. If one of the statutory holidays in clause 23.01 coincides with the Employee’s vacation period, or falls on a day which is not part of their regular work schedule, the holiday will be deferred to a date agreed upon with the Employee’s Supervisor.
