Xxxxxxx Leave. The Union President or the President’s designee shall be allowed to handle complaints and grievances under this Agreement during working hours. The President or designee shall suffer no loss in compensation for time spent handling complaints and grievances for up to eight (8) hours per month. All time spent in such activities shall be recorded on a State form which clearly identifies the activity as release time. Release from work to perform xxxxxxx functions will normally be pre-approved and will not be unreasonably denied. The State form will be prepared and submitted to administration for recording purposes. If possible the form will be submitted in advance; however, when not feasible, the form will be prepared and submitted to administration within a reasonable period of time within the affected pay period.
Xxxxxxx Leave. A Unit I member who is absent due to physical disability/injury that results from an assault while in the scope of Board employment shall be kept on full pay status instead of sick leave during such period of absence. In this section, an assault is defined as an attempt by a person to cause or purposely, knowingly or recklessly cause bodily injury to a Unit I member.
Xxxxxxx Leave. The Board shall grant all stewards up to twelve (12) hours' excused absence within a twelve- (12) month period to attend training sessions sponsored by the Union, provided such training is related to the bargaining unit employees' performance of Union xxxxxxx duties. A Union request for such training will be submitted in writing to the Board not less than three (3) weeks prior to the scheduled training session and will set forth the content of the training, its duration and a statement as to the relationship of the training to the xxxxxxx'x performance of his/her duties, as well as a statement that the training is required.
Xxxxxxx Leave. A member who is required to be absent due to disability resulting from an assault, which occurs in the course of and/or as a result of Board employment or attendance at school sponsored functions in the scope of employment, will be eligible to receive assault leave. From the date of the assault, the leave will be granted. The leave will not exceed thirty (30) working days. At no time during the leave will a member’s pay or pay schedule be negatively affected. Fringe benefits for the employee and family will remain in effect during the leave. The member is required to submit to the Treasurer a statement of the incident. Such statement shall indicate the nature of the injury, the date of the occurrence, the identity, if known, of the individual(s) causing the assault, and the facts surrounding the assault. If the Assault Leave is more than two (2) consecutive working days, the member shall provide a certificate from a licensed physician stating the nature of the disability and its expected duration. The member who has been assaulted will complete an application for Workers’ Compensation Act Medical Benefits. If the member’s employment by the Board ceases, this provision shall no longer apply. Extensions of the above provisions may be granted by the Superintendent. Falsification of either the signed statement or a physician’s certificate by the employee may be grounds for suspension or termination of employment.
Xxxxxxx Leave. 1. Leave for Member absences resulting from a physical assault that has occurred while they are performing their job duties shall be governed by workers’ compensation and/or FMLA.
Xxxxxxx Leave. The Board shall grant up to twenty (20) days to employees who suffer physical injury as a result of physical assault by any person while in performance of his duties or in connection with his duties. The teacher will be maintained on full pay status with fringe benefits during this absence. The injured employee must be under a physician's care and have a physician's statement describing the nature of the disability and the duration of leave. Should the disability need more than twenty days leave, these additional days will all be assault leave. If the injury persists past the normal duration, twenty (20) days, verification may be sought by the Board's selected physician. (Maximum amount of assault leave-50 days per occurrence)
Xxxxxxx Leave.
11.1 A designated KCPOA xxxxxxx shall be granted permission, during the course of a work day, to meet, confer with, and/or represent an employee on any/all matters within the scope of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
11.2 Xxxxxxx leave shall be paid time, if granted during a normal business day.
11.3 Under no circumstances shall the City grant overtime, in either paid or compensatory form, for xxxxxxx leave.
Xxxxxxx Leave. A teacher who is physically injured/traumatized resulting from a student assault which occurs in the course of the teacher's employment by the Board shall be maintained upon full pay status for the first five (5) days of the teacher's absence and for a period of up to fifteen (15) work days after the teacher is released by/from doctor's care, but only if the teacher is still mentally or physically traumatized. This leave shall only be granted to teachers who provide the Board with the following:
1. A signed statement describing the facts of the incident and
Xxxxxxx Leave. The Xxxxx Board of Education shall provide assault leave for teachers who are absent due to any physical disability resulting from an assault which occurs while the employee is on regular or special assignment during the course of Board employment. Such leave will not cause any loss in pay, nor be charged against sick leave accumulated by the employee. Teachers who use assault leave shall complete the assault leave form. In case of more than five (5) days of continuous absence, medical verification for the extended absence shall be provided. Assault leave shall be limited to no more than 60 days of absence.
Xxxxxxx Leave. Assault leave with pay shall be granted to members of the negotiating unit who are unable to perform their contract duties because of injury caused by assault on said member while he is performing his contract duties. All such leaves shall be subject to the following provisions:
1. Requests for such leave shall be made in writing to the Superintendent not later than three (3) school days following the assault. In cases of disabling injuries, the Superintendent shall extend the time for filing the application.
2. After three (3) days' absence, the employee shall be required to provide a physician's statement describing the nature of the disability and the length of time it will render him unable to perform his contract duties.
3. Paid assault leave shall be limited to forty-five (45) school days per year. If the disability still exists, the victim of the assault may petition the Board to extend the paid assault leave.
4. The employee shall be maintained on full pay status with fringe benefits during the period of assault leave.
5. Assault leave shall not be charged to sick leave or any other leave.
