SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND PUBLIC HOLIDAY WORK. (a) All ordinary time worked by shift workers on a Saturday shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half. This rate is in substitution for and not cumulative upon the allowance prescribed in sub-clause (e) above. (b) All ordinary time worked by shift workers on a Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of double time. This rate is in substitution for and not cumulative upon the allowance prescribed in sub-clause (e) above. Where shifts commence between 10:00pm and midnight on a Sunday, the time so worked before midnight shall not entitle an employee to the Sunday rate but shall be paid at the normal rate of pay. (c) All overtime worked by day workers and shift workers on a Sunday shall be paid at the rate of double time and a half (d) In addition to the ordinary rate, a continuous shift worker required to work on a public holiday shall be paid double time and a half for the hours worked. This rate is in substitution for and not cumulative upon the allowance prescribed in sub-clause (e) above. (e) In addition to the ordinary rate any continuous shift worker required to work on Good Friday and Christmas Day which will be paid at the rate of treble time. This rate is in substitution for and not cumulative upon the allowance prescribed in sub-clause (e) above. (f) In the case of shift workers all public holidays will be observed on the day when they fall.

SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND PUBLIC HOLIDAY WORK. (a) A continuous shiftworker is entitled to be paid, for work done according to his or her roster: (i) at the rate of time and one-half of his or her ordinary pay for work performed on a Saturday; (ii) at the rate of double time of his or her ordinary pay for work performed on a Sunday; and (iii) at the rate of double time and one-half of his or her ordinary pay for work performed on a public holiday. (b) A continuous shiftworker who is not rostered to work on a public holiday is entitled to be paid his or her ordinary pay for that day. (c) A non-continuous shiftworker is entitled to be paid, for work done according to his or her roster: (i) at the rate of time and one half of his or her ordinary pay for work performed on a Saturday; (ii) at the rate of double time of his or her ordinary pay for work performed on a Sunday; and (iii) at the rate of double time and one-half of his or her ordinary pay for work performed on a public holiday. (d) If a shift worker works a shift that starts before midnight the day before a Sunday or public holiday and extends into a Sunday or public holiday, the time worked on that shift is counted as time worked on a Sunday or public holiday. (e) If a shift worker works a shift that starts between 11.00pm and midnight on a Sunday or public holiday, the time worked before midnight on that shift will not entitle the shift worker to the Sunday or public holiday rate. (f) If a shift falls partly on a Sunday or a public holiday, the shift with the most time falling on a Sunday or a public holiday, will be the Sunday or public holiday shift.

  • Saturday and Sunday Work (a) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday, the employee will be paid a loading of 50% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (b) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday, all employees excluding home care employees will be paid a loading of 75% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (c) Casual employees will be paid in accordance with Clauses 35(a) and 35(b). The rates prescribed in Clauses 35(a) and 35(b) will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the casual loading prescribed in Clause 12.5(b). (d) These extra rates will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift penalties prescribed at Clause 38 Shiftwork.

  • Saturday and Sunday Work Week: Five (5) consecutive days per week, Sunday to Saturday. Work Day: Seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours per day. Any shift starting after 12:01 p.m. will receive a shift premium in accordance with Article 13.01 ii).

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall be a Saturday or a Sunday or shall be a legal holiday in the State of New York, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding day not a legal holiday.

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Public Holiday Work (a) For Employees other than Shiftworkers, double time and a half must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours. (b) For Shiftworkers, double time and a half (inclusive of their shift loading) must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.

  • Sunday Employees at the Maine State Prison shall be eligible for a weekend differential of fifty cents ($.50) per hour to the base for shifts beginning between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 8:29 p.m. Sunday.
