SHIFT CHANGE NOTIFICATION. 11.1 Whenever the City fails to give five (5) days’ notice to a full-time employee of a temporary or emergency change in their normal work schedule, which would require the employee to work full shift different than that in which they normally work, the employee shall be paid an additional ten dollars ($10.00) for that shift. This pay shall not be confused with or paid in addition to call back pay as provided for in Article 35 of this Agreement.
11.2 If an employee who has reported to work; is subsequently sent home and is required to return to work at a later time to complete full shift, the employee shall be paid an additional twenty dollars ($20.00) for that shift.
11.3 For Emergency Shift Change Notification for emergencies such as disasters, local emergencies and weather response refer to Appendix B, Public Works Emergency Shift Change Notification (ESC).
11.4 This Article does not apply in the case of changes which are subject to a flex time arrangement under Article 5.1.d of the Agreement.
SHIFT CHANGE NOTIFICATION.
6.4.1 Except for employees assigned to relief shift employees shall be given at least five (5) workdays notice prior to a change in their assigned hours of work. The notice requirement shall not apply to emergency assignments and it shall not apply to changes as a result of absences by other employees. If an employee's shift or day off is changed without the above notification they shall receive overtime compensation for all hours worked on the first day of the new shift. (Renamed 2019-2021)

SHIFT CHANGE NOTIFICATION a. Employees will be notified as soon as the employer recognizes the requirement for a shift change but no less than seven (7) days in advance of a shift change. Work schedules will be posted as soon as the employer recognizes the requirement for shift change, in each work area, no less than seven (7) days in advance.
b. Employees will be notified of unusual work schedules or duties no less than seven (7) days in advance. Shift differential, when authorized, for the original shift will be paid if the proper notice period is not provided. A situation which imposes immediate and unforeseen work requirements as a result of natural phenomena or mission related circumstances beyond the employer's reasonable control or ability to anticipate, or the Employer determines that the activity would be seriously handicapped in carrying out its functions or that costs would be substantially increased, the Employer is excluded from the seven (7) day notice requirement.
SHIFT CHANGE NOTIFICATION. If the employer has the need to temporarily change the start of an employee(s) regularly scheduled work shift, the Employer will attempt to give the Employee(s) forty-eight (48) hours’ notice of such shift change.
SHIFT CHANGE NOTIFICATION. Technicians will be notified no less than two weeks in advance of a shift change. Holidays or special events related work schedules will be confirmed thirty (30) calendar days in advance. Although these advanced notices will normally be provided, management may make shift changes without such notice when it is determined the agency would be seriously handicapped in carrying out its functions or costs would be substantially increased without the prescribed change. A situation which imposes immediate and unforeseen work requirements as a result of natural phenomena or mission related circumstances beyond the employer’s reasonable control, or ability to anticipate, or the employer determines that the activity would be seriously handicapped in carrying out it’s functions or that costs would be substantially increased, the employer is excluded from the agreed to notice requirements.
SHIFT CHANGE NOTIFICATION. The City shall give employees reasonable, but at a minimum, a 72-hour notice of routine shift changes. Emergency shift changes shall be made on an as needed basis.
