Student Discipline Committee. A. The Board shall make every effort to provide system-wide training on classroom management and a positive school climate.
B. There should be a transition orientation for every sixth and ninth grader to assist students in adjusting to new school environments.
C. There should be immediate actions taken to reduce inappropriate special education referrals, particularly at the elementary school level.
D. The Board shall make every effort to provide staff development for teachers involuntarily transferred to a different school level.
Student Discipline Committee. The Board and the Union agree that student discipline and a safe and secure environment for students and PSRPs is paramount. To this end, the Union shall appoint three (3) individuals from the PSRP bargaining unit to add to the Student Discipline Committee under the BTU Teacher Agreement with the Board.

At least one representative from the teachers’ association from each building shall be a member of the school’s student discipline committee that meets a minimum of once per year for the purpose of improving and defining school discipline and/or consequences policies as required in 105 ILCS 5/10-20.14.

The Board and the Union shall form a committee composed of five (5) individuals appointed by the Union and five (5) individuals appointed by the CEO and five (5) students selected by ASCBC for the purpose of considering issues related to student culture, climate, equity, social justice, and discipline. The committee shall meet no later than August 1, 2019 and as many additional times as is necessary in order to present a report to the CEO and Union President by no later than October 31, 2019 in order to make appropriate recommendations to the Board.

Student Discipline Committee. It is the shared interest and goal for the Association and the District to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students, to support staff members and to promote smooth implementation of the new rules in Issaquah Schools.
a. Review the District implementation of the new rules of WAC 392.400, and address issues such as training needs, delegation or assignment of staff roles and duties relative to new notification provisions, concerns that may arise related to implementation, steps to adjust and improve implementation, issues related to marginalized groups, or disproportionate representation of marginalized groups, and other issues agreed to by the parties as being appropriate to the work of the committee. The further purpose of the Committee is to assure the Association has a role in providing direct input to the District on the impact and implementation of Issaquah’s student discipline process under the new rules.
b. Be co-chaired by a District representative named by the Superintendent or designee and an association representative named by the Association President or designee.
c. Be comprised of five (5) District representatives and five (5) Association representatives, one of which may be the UniServ Representative as well as an outside District advisor.
d. Meet quarterly, with meetings in October, January, March and May.
Student Discipline Committee. This committee will consist of 6 members, up to 3 appointed by the district and up to 3 appointed by the Union. The Committee will meet in September and January or as mutually agreed to by both parties to discuss problems and to further develop procedures to ensure the safety of students, school bus drivers and route assistants. The Human Resources Office will have the appropriate personnel involved when needed.

The SDC shall meet at least once per term and more frequently as the members of the SDC may mutually agree. Teachers who as of April 7, 2008, were on the maximum step of the BA and B+15 columns shall, effective on September 1, 2010, receive an additional two (2%) percent increase. Teachers who as of April 7, 2008, were not on the maximum step of the BA and BA+15 columns and are still in the BA or BA+15 columns shall, effective on September 1, 2019, receive an additional two (2%) percent increase.
