Sunday Openings. In the event that the Employer determines to open the main library or a branch of the library on a Sunday, staff will be recruited on a voluntary basis from the bargaining unit. The Employer will designate the classifications and number of employees required. Should an insufficient number of qualified employees volunteer, the Employer has the right to assign on a rotational basis commencing with the least senior qualified employee. Employees working on a Sunday shall receive a premium of seventy (70) cents per hour for each hour worked on a Sunday.

Sunday Openings. The NSLC and the Union agree that work resulting from the opening of NSLC stores on Sunday shall be voluntary for Regular Full-Time employees and Regular Part- Time employees. Sunday work shall be offered in the following manner and sequence:
Sunday Openings. If the Board of Trustees decides to open the Library on Sundays, it will give the Union thirty (30) days notice prior to the scheduled implementation, during which time the parties will meet to negotiate rates of pay for such work and scheduling of personnel. If the parties do not reach agreement on these issues, they will seek expedited, binding interest arbitration with a mutually acceptable neutral, such process to be completed with a decision from the neutral no later than sixty (60) days from the declaration of impasse. The parties will confirm with the neutral that he/she can comply with this schedule. The arbitrator will make a decision based upon the evidence. Sunday work will not be implemented until the neutral has ruled.
Sunday Openings. Regular full-time and regular part-time Associates hired prior to May 1, 1987 shall be guaranteed time and one-half (1½) for all hours worked on Sunday. All Associates hired after May 1, 1987, but prior to July 25, 1996, shall be guaranteed one dollar ($1.00) per hour premium for all hours worked on Sunday. All Associates hired after July 24, 1996, but prior to August 4, 2000 shall be guaranteed fifty cents (50¢) per hour premium for all hours worked on Sunday. All Associates hired after August 3, 2000 shall receive the straight time rate of pay for all hours worked on Sunday. Within 45 days of the date of ratification (August 30, 2012) all Sales Associates who receive Sunday premium pay [T1/2, additional $.50 per hour, or additional $1.00 per hour] will have the hourly value of the premium [in the case of T1/2 it is the ½ time] ] added to their new base hourly rate effective on the date of the stores pay plan conversion [The total 2010, 2011 and 52 weeks prior to June 16, 2012 premium paid divided by the productive hours for the same period] Premiums for working on Sunday will then be discontinued for these Associates, as it is added to their base hourly rate.

Sunday Openings. The following applies to Sunday openings: a) Employees, who work Sundays, shall be paid a premium of one dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) per hour for all straight time hours so worked. This premium does not apply when overtime rates are being paid. b) When staffing a Sunday shift, the Employer shall first seek volunteers from among the employees currently working in the affected classification in that work location. When an insufficient number of these employees volunteer, the Employer may select the required number of employees from the affected classifications in reverse order of seniority. c) The Employer shall give the Union at least four (4) weeks notice when it intends to reconfigure the hours in a work location to accommodate a Sunday opening. The Parties shall meet during this notice period to discuss and to reduce, as much as operationally possible, the negative effects of the reconfiguration on the employees in that work location, provided that in so doing the Employer’s customer service goals are being met. Full-time employees in the work location shall not have their hours reduced to part-time as a result of such reconfiguration, and the Employer shall endeavour to minimize any resulting reduction in the hours of work of part-time employees in the work location.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Saturday and Sunday Work (a) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Friday and midnight Saturday, the employee will be paid a loading of 50% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (b) Where an employee is rostered to work ordinary hours between midnight Saturday and midnight Sunday, all employees excluding home care employees will be paid a loading of 75% of their ordinary rate of pay for the hours worked during this period. (c) Casual employees will be paid in accordance with Clauses 35(a) and 35(b). The rates prescribed in Clauses 35(a) and 35(b) will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the casual loading prescribed in Clause 12.5(b). (d) These extra rates will be in substitution for and not cumulative upon the shift penalties prescribed at Clause 38 Shiftwork.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Sunday Work Employees required to work overtime on Sundays shall be paid for a minimum of three hours work at double time. The double time is to be paid until the employee is relieved from duty.

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Monday morning The employee should not work more than 16 hours without an 8 hour break.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall be a Saturday or a Sunday or shall be a legal holiday in the State of New York, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding day not a legal holiday.

  • Public Holiday Work (a) For Employees other than Shiftworkers, double time and a half must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours. (b) For Shiftworkers, double time and a half (inclusive of their shift loading) must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.
