Teacher Initiated Transfer a. Teachers may request transfer at any time, but transfers will not, except under the most unusual circumstances, be made after the beginning of a school year. An example of an unusual circumstance could be a teacher with a part-time assignment who applies for a full-time assignment.
b. Teachers interested in transferring from one school to another or who wish to express an interest in a specific subject/grade/position within the district, should advise the Superintendent of Schools and current principal, in writing, prior to April 30th.
c. The Superintendent or designate shall acknowledge, in writing, all requests for transfer and shall keep the teacher apprised of the status of the transfer.
d. Once all staff realignment meetings have occurred, offers of transfers may be issued. Teachers shall have forty-eight (48) hours to respond to such offers.
e. If the request for transfer is not granted, the Superintendent or designate shall provide a written rationale.
Teacher Initiated Transfer. A Teacher desiring a transfer shall make application for a transfer on or before a date as determined by the School Division of the School Year prior to the School Year for which the transfer is to be effective. The School Division shall approve or deny the transfer at its discretion. A Teacher initiated transfer does not restrict a Teacher’s ability to apply for other positions in the School Division.
Teacher Initiated Transfer. (a) Each Teacher who wishes to transfer to another school for the next school year shall
(i) Inform the Director or designate in writing by May 1st of any calendar year in question in which a transfer is sought that such Teacher wishes a transfer;
(ii) Indicate to what school(s) or area the Teacher wishes a transfer.
(b) Upon receipt of such a request for transfer, the Director or designate shall endeavour to comply with the Teacher’s request subject to pupil and program needs and the personnel complement in the affected school and the system as a whole.
(c) Subject to pupil and programming needs, in the event of two (2) or more Teachers eligible for such transfer, the priority for such a transfer shall be in accordance with the seniority of the applicant.
(d) The Director or designate shall inform all Teachers requesting a transfer of his or her decision by June 15th next ensuing after the receipt of the written request for such a transfer.
(e) If a Teacher’s request for a transfer is not granted, the Teacher shall have the option of remaining in his or her current placement, subject to the provisions of this Collective Agreement.
Teacher Initiated Transfer. 1. Teachers may apply for transfer to any vacant position posted at the time it is posted, and may apply for transfer generally by request, in writing, to the Superintendent by March 31.
a. Teachers wishing consideration for vacant positions which arise as a result of resignations during the summer shall so indicate, leaving a contact phone number, and shall be considered.
2. If the request for transfer is not granted the teacher shall be notified, in writing, as soon as possible and he/she shall be given reasons why the transfer was not effected.
a. Some reasons may include: seniority, experience and qualifications.
3. A teacher who is not granted their request for a transfer may, within seven days of notification, request a meeting with the Superintendent to discuss the reasons given.
a. The teacher may be accompanied at such a meeting by a member of the Association.
Teacher Initiated Transfer. A teacher may request a transfer to take effect during the school year or at the beginning of the next school year. A transfer request will be considered complete when the teacher has applied to a vacancy.
1. Where the request is made for a transfer to take effect during the school year, it shall be made during the posting of the notice of vacancy.
2. Where the request is made for a transfer to take effect at the beginning of the next school year, it shall be made at any time prior to the close of a specific posting that arises before or on the Friday of the second week of June each year.
3. Openings will be posted on the Fullerton School District Personnel Vacancy page and on EdJoin. The Certificated Personnel department will send vacancy posting emails to teachers for all vacancies that arise prior to or on the Friday of the second week of June each year. Current FSD teachers will follow a simplified application process which includes:

3. School Preference
Teacher Initiated Transfer. To be considered for a transfer within the District, a teacher must complete a District transfer application.
Teacher Initiated Transfer. 1. Teachers may apply for any vacancy if: (a) they have two (2) years of service in the District; (b) they have not placed on PAR within the last two (2) years; and, (c) they have not accepted a teacher-initiated transfer in the last two (2) years.
2. The Human Resources Department shall forward to the principal, or other administrator having authority to fill the vacancy, the names of all teachers who have applied for a vacancy, and the names of those teachers whose general requests for transfer are on file.
3. When five (5) or more district teachers apply for the same position, at least the four top candidates shall be interviewed.
4. The District shall make every reasonable attempt to fill vacancies from transfer requests wherever possible.
5. When two or more teachers apply for the same vacancy and when the immediate supervisor determines, after considering the employees areas of demonstrated competence, qualifications and District needs, that two or more teachers are equally qualified, seniority shall be used to make a final determination.
6. The immediate supervisor shall make every reasonable effort to communicate his/her recommendation to each applicant within five (5) days after Board action.
7. Any teacher who has been interviewed for transfer and who has been denied, may request, and will receive, from the appropriate administrator, the reason(s) for non-acceptance.
8. Teachers desiring to trade positions may apply to the site administrators at the affected sites.

2. The Board agrees when filling teaching vacancies and new teaching positions to consult teacher intent forms which may have been filed with the District, and where possible to select within the District when qualified applicants are available.
3. District teachers will be considered on the basis of experience, qualifications, and length of service to the District. However, the specific needs of The Lake and Peninsula School District will be given first priority in the final selection of the successful applicant.
4. In addition to transportation, the District shall reimburse parcel post and/or air freight, to a maximum of $1,000.00 per family, for customary and reasonable moving expenses for teachers whose transfer requests are granted.
Teacher Initiated Transfer. To be considered for a transfer within the Interlocal, a teacher must complete an Interlocal transfer application.
