Training and Seminars. The expenses for bargaining unit employees who are required by the employer to attend training schools, seminars, or other educational programs shall be paid by the City. The City shall also pay costs for any examinations it requires the employee to take. The employees shall be paid for attending such schools, seminars, programs or examinations in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. Tuition reimbursement, as provided by the Administrative Regulations, shall be available to the employees for authorized programs not required by the City. The City agrees to reimburse employees required to maintain a commercial driver’s license for the renewal of such CDL to the extent it exceeds the cost of a regular operator’s license, not to exceed $25.00 every four years. This applies only to required periodic renewals, and not to costs for loss, suspension, etc. All members, except those in the job classification of Building Cleaner/Service Worker and Grounds Technician shall be required to hold a Class A CDL. Any present employee required by this Article to possess a Class A CDL who does not presently possess a Class A CDL shall obtain a Class A CDL on or before July 1, 2012. If any present employee fails to obtain a Class A CDL on or before July 1, 2012, the employee shall not be eligible for promotion to any position in the bargaining unit. The City shall provide employee(s) with CDL study materials and assist in training. The City will provide the equipment, time and driver for the actual testing procedure. After the employee obtains a CDL, he/she will be reimbursed for the first actual license. It is understood that those who sign the Overtime List can only work the positions for which they carry the proper CDL. Those members who do not have CDL’s will be at the bottom of the list for overtime.

Training and Seminars. 11.1 When an employee attends approved conferences, seminars, or training during the regularly scheduled work day, the employee will be compensated at his/her regular daily rate of pay. No overtime will be paid. The fees and expenses will be paid by the Employer providing that the employee successfully completes such conference, seminar or training. Meals during such activities, and any mileage to and from such activities in non-City vehicles will be paid by the Employer.
Training and Seminars. (a) Vendor shall provide training to Board, at Vendor’s cost, as requested at the start of the Contract period and throughout the term of the Contract. Training, which can be conducted virtually/remotely at Vendor’s sole discretion, shall include but not be limited to proper methods of handling, segregating and containing, packaging, labeling and storing of infectious waste and disposal of sharps. The maximum compensation payable to Vendor during the Extended Term of this Agreement shall not exceed Forty- Three Thousand and 00/100 U.S. Dollars ($43,000.00) (“Base Maximum Compensation Amount”). It is understood and agreed that the Maximum Compensation Amount is a ‘not-to-exceed amount’ and is not a guaranteed payment. Compensation shall be based on actual Services performed during the Term of this Agreement, and the Board shall not be obligated to pay for any Services or other deliverables not in compliance with this Agreement. No expenses shall be reimbursed under this Agreement. In the event the Agreement is terminated early, the Board shall only be obligated to pay the fees incurred up to the effective date of termination and Vendor shall promptly refund to the Board any payments received from Services and deliverables not provided. In the event the Board requires any service that requires greater frequency or greater container quantity than provided below, then Vendor will only provide such service on condition of a mutually-executed amendment or change order that increases the Maximum Compensation Amount. No service provided in excess of the parameters provided in the chart below will constitute a waiver of this requirement. Training and Seminars. Hours engaged in required training, including attendance at seminars, shall be treated as hours worked for pay purposes. Travel to any required training or seminar, outside of scheduled normal working hours or requiring extra travel, shall be treated for pay purposes in accordance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations. Voluntary training may be offered during working hours or on the employee’s own time.
Training and Seminars. The City provides funds for training and educational seminars as the budget reasonably permits. Tuition and fees for training and educational seminars are paid from these funds. Employees requesting tuition for emergency services, job-related educational seminars must obtain approval in advance from the Director of Safety Services. Employees attending such seminars during their normal duty hours will not be charged vacation leave or compensatory time off leave. Employees attending such seminars on their own time will not be compensated for that time.

  • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved.
