Training Outside Normal Working Hours. 1. Wherever possible training programs will be conducted at times convenient for individuals, groups and the Council, depending upon the training and development requirements and program availability. 2. As a means of enabling greater flexibility in the provision of training and development opportunities, training programs may be conducted outside normal working hours. Sessions may be held on a Saturday between the hours of 9.00 am and 4.30 pm or on weekday evenings Monday to Friday outside normal working hours by agreement. 3. A minimum of one month's notice will be provided prior to any training programme being conducted during these times. 4. Where possible, flexible options (ie more than one opportunity to attend a programme) will be provided. No employee will be required to attend any more than an aggregate of 22 hours of this type of training in any one year. 5. Payment will be at ordinary time. Reasonable child care expenses, when required, will be met by Council.
