Employee Requested. The Employer agrees that a leave of absence with pay shall be granted to members of the bargaining unit who submit a request to attend an Employee development educational program(s) which is agreed to be relevant to work and the Employer is reasonably able to comply.
Employee Requested. Leave of absence for the duration of the disability for a period up to six (6) consecutive months shall be granted to any permanent employee who, as a result of an extended illness or injury including pregnancy or childbirth related disabilities, has exhausted his/her accumulation of sick leave. Upon the request of such employees, such leave may be extended up to a total maximum of one (1) year. In all cases a physician's statement indicating diagnosis, prognosis and estimated length of disability is required before such leave is granted. An employee returning from employee-requested medical leave shall be reinstated to his/her original job or to a position of like status, pay and seniority.
Employee Requested. If weather conditions become hazardous prior to reporting to work or during the work shift, employees may request leave to stay home or go home prior to the end of the work shift subject to supervisory approval. In such cases where permission is granted, the employee shall have the option to use either accrued vacation, compensatory time or leave without pay.
Employee Requested. Job Evaluation
i. Job descriptions may be submitted for job evaluation no less than 18 months following the last evaluation unless there are material changes to the duties of the position.
ii. An employee who requests a review of their position shall initiate the review process, in consultation with their Union Job Evaluation Review Officer, by submitting a Request for Classification Review form via email to the Joint Job Evaluation Committee.
a. Where more than one incumbent in the same area carries out the same tasks, one document and job description will be submitted for the group.
iii. The employee and their Union Job Evaluation Review Officer will be provided with a copy of their current job description to be updated using available technology to record changes.
iv. The employee and their supervisor must meet to discuss the employee’s classification request and review the content of the proposed job description, with a draft copy of the job description provided to the affected employee.
a. If the employee and supervisor are not able to reach consensus about the scope of the job duties, the employee will request a meeting with their supervisor, Human Resources and their Union Job Evaluation Review Officer.
v. If the current supervisor of the position being evaluated is acting or temporary, the supervisor whose base position it is must be included in the evaluation request process. If that person is unavailable, the next level manager will be required to approve any decision made.
vi. Within 20 working days after the employee submits the documents to the supervisor, the supervisor shall submit the form and the finalized job description to the Joint Job Evaluation Committee via email.
vii. The Joint Job Evaluation Committee will be comprised of at least one Human Resources employee and one Union Job Evaluation Review Officer.
viii. The Joint Job Evaluation Committee will jointly review the request and evaluate the job description with the Job Evaluation Rating Manual.
ix. The committee shall inform the employee, the supervisor and the union of the results of the evaluation.
Employee Requested. 15 A. The District will fund up to three thousand dollars ($3,000) annually for registration fees 16 for conferences, OSPI offered workshops, and classes that qualify for SNA certification 17 credit upon prior approval by the Administrator of Food and Nutrition Services. All 18 requests must be submitted by May 15 annually. Unspent and unencumbered funds as of 19 June 1 will be available for additional reimbursement using the following priority:
20 1. Conference registration;
21 2. Workshop registration;
22 3. Class registration; and
23 4. Travel related expenses.
Employee Requested. 25 A. The District will fund up to $1,750 annually for registration fees for conferences, OSPI 26 offered workshops, and classes that qualify for SNA certification credit upon prior 27 approval by the Administrator of Food and Nutrition Services. All requests must be 28 submitted by May 15th annually. Unspent and unencumbered funds as of June 1 will be 29 available for additional reimbursement using the following priority:
31 1. Conference registration;
32 2. Workshop registration;
33 3. Class registration; and
34 4. Travel related expenses. 36 B The District will fund a pool of $1,500 annually to reimburse back-up managers for 37 tuition/fees to take pre-approved classes to obtain/maintain their certification. All 38 requests must be submitted by May 15 annually. Unspent and unencumbered funds as 39 of June 1 will be available for additional reimbursement. 40
Employee Requested. 5:01 Where an employee believes that his/her position should be reclassified to another classification within the Salary Schedule, he/she may apply in writing to the Human Resource Services for a review of the duties, stating the requested classification.
5:02 Human Resource Services will audit the position and shall within forty-five
5:03 Where, as a result of a review of duties, a position is reclassified to a classification having a higher maximum salary, the Authority shall promote the incumbent without competition to the new classification effective on the date of the request in Section :01 above.
5:04 If the decision in Section :02 is unsatisfactory, the dispute may be grieved at Step 2 of the Grievance Procedure, and in the event it is not satisfactorily resolved at Step 2, may be referred by the Union to Arbitration in accordance with Article 23.
5:05 Should an employee’s classification be found to be higher than his present classification, and he/she is placed in the higher classification, then his/her rate of pay for that higher classification and promotion shall become effective on the date on which the request was submitted in Section :01 above.
Employee Requested. An employee may wish to obtain education or training in addition to that provided by the City under Section 15.1. To obtain a tuition refund or reimbursement for any other conference or seminar (tuition), education or training costs and fees, including travel and accommodations, employees must first obtain prior written consent of the Mayor. Where such consent has been provided and upon proof of successful completion of the education or training, the City shall give the employee administrative leave for travel to and from, as well as attendance at, the conference or seminar and shall refund 100% of tuition paid for such education or training. The City shall also reimburse the employee for any pre-approved reasonable costs, fees, or travel expenses paid by the employee in connection with such education or training. Reasonable costs, fees, and travel expenses reimbursed for travel outside the City of Fairbanks will be as described in Article 19,

Reasonable costs, fees and travel expenses reimbursed for travel outside the City of Fairbanks shall be as described in Article 19, Travel and Per Diem. The employee whose educational or training request has been granted shall sign an agreement providing that any refund or reimbursement will be returned to the City on a prorated basis in the event of voluntary termination within 360 calendar days. Involuntary terminations or separations involving medical reasons will not require refunds to be returned.
Employee Requested. Downgrade- refers to a downgrade initiated by the employee. (An employee who expresses a desire for an employee-requested downgrade may have his/her Xxxxxxx or Business Representative present during any formal discussion of the proposed action).
