As determined by the needs of the food service program and its director, an employee may be asked to work overtime. Employees working over 40 hours per week will be paid time and one half for the number of hours in excess of 40, except that holidays, sick, personal and bereavement time do not count for the purposes of determining the number of hours worked above 40 hours. All overtime must be pre-approved by the food service director. C. Employees interested in working, or being trained to work extra curricular events, shall sign up for such functions at the beginning of the school year, but no later than September 30th of that year. Thereafter such work will be distributed on a rotating basis district wide. Employees who work at school department functions shall be paid their regular hourly rate. Employees who work non-school department functions shall be paid at time and a half. D. If an employee is required to work a function outside of his/her scheduled workday, he/she shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours at regular hourly rate. E. All employees are entitled to one lunch per workday. Employees working less than 2.5 hours per day shall eat before or after the duration of his/her shift. Employees who work less than 5 continuous hours per day shall use their 10-minute break to eat lunch. Employees who work 5 or more continuous hours per day are required to use their 30-minute unpaid duty-free lunch break to eat lunch. F. In the event school is closed because of inclement weather, the Committee shall make a reasonable effort to notify employees of such cancellation in time to adjust their travel plans. Notification may be via television, radio, website, instant alert, etc. G. Employees may be required to work on Saturdays or Sundays if school days, lost due to inclement weather, must be made up thereon.

WORK DAY/WEEK/YEAR. The work week shall consist of five (5) consecutive days, Monday through Friday, of eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week. The District may extend the regular work day or work week on an overtime basis. The District may change, as provided herein, the working hours of an employee on a given day when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District. The District shall designate the hours of the work day for each assignment. If the District changes the hours of the work day of an employee on a permanent basis, the employee shall be given two (2) week prior notice. In cases of regularly scheduled community or school group activities, two (2) weeks’ notice shall be given to an employee for a temporary change in assigned hours. A temporary change in hours may be made when there are not sufficient numbers of appropriate employees regularly scheduled during the period of need. Temporary change in hours may be made at the request of the employee and with the approval of the employee’s management supervisor.

Each member is a twelve month salaried employee and is required to work the full calendar year and shall receive all holidays which apply to teaching and non-teaching employees.   • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • Work Year The full-time work year for all employees employed in EA and ECE job classes shall be a minimum of 194 work days to correspond with the school year calendar.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (b) (applicable to part-time employees only) The normal or standard work day shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day and the normal or standard full- time work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one- half (37½) hours per week except in those hospitals where agreements already provide a normal or standard work day of less than seven and one-half hours and a normal or standard full-time work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this article.) Part-time employees shall be entitled to overtime pay at the rate of time and one-half their regular straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of the normal or standard work day or in excess of the normal or standard full-time work week. The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. (c) Where the Hospital and the Union agree, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Labour, other arrangements regarding hours of work may be entered into between parties on a local level with respect to tours beyond the normal or standard work day in accordance with the provisions set out in Article 25.01 of the collective agreement.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.
