Work on Traditional Holidays. Any employee who works on one of the “traditional” holidays (New Year’s Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xx. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day) shall be paid at a premium rate of one and one-half (1 ½) the employee’s regular rate of pay.

Work on Traditional Holidays. The Hospital recognizes the following holidays: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. The Clinics recognize the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Employees scheduled to work on the recognized holidays that apply to them shall be paid one and one-half (1 1/2) times their base rate of pay plus applicable shift differential for all hours worked. Employees may also request PTO hours in addition to the hours worked. Subject to departmental needs and other business considerations, the Employer will make a good faith effort to equitably rotate holiday work assignments among employees by job classification within a department. Holiday rotation will take precedence over vacation schedules.
Work on Traditional Holidays. Any nurse who works on one of the "traditional" holidays (New Year's Day, MLK DayPresidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day) shall be paid at the premium rate of one and one-half (1½) times the nurse's regular rate of pay. No nurse shall be assigned to work the same holiday two (2) years in a row unless the nurse makes a written request to work the holiday prior to the posting of the schedule. Nurses will not be required to state their preference for working or not working Christmas Eve and/or New Years' Eve; however nothing herein shall prevent nurses from doing so. For Christmas only, the holiday will be defined as 6:30am on December 25 to 7:00am on December 26. Night shift nurses will receive holiday pay for only one Christmas Day qualifying shift, defined as Christmas Eve night through 7am December 25th or 6:30pm December 25th through 7am on December 26th.

Current holidays included in the Employer’s policy are as follows: New Year’s Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Xx. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Individual departments may establish their own equitable holiday scheduling practices, as long as the practice does not violate this agreement.

  • Additional Holidays Every day declared by the President, or the Governor of this State, as a public fast, mourning, thanksgiving, or holiday, or any day declared by the Governing Board under Education Code Section 45203 shall be a paid holiday for all employees in the bargaining unit.

  • Personal Holidays An employee may choose one (1) workday as a personal holiday during each calendar year if the employee has been continuously employed by the State of Washington for more than four (4) months.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Work on Holidays An employee who is required to work, or works with prior approval, any part of a holiday shall receive holiday compensatory time for up to eight (8) hours, on an hour for hour basis, for the actual non-overtime hours worked in addition to their regular rate of pay. An employee who works overtime on a holiday shall be compensated in accordance with all applicable pay and overtime provisions. An employee must use holiday compensatory time within one (1) year after having accrued that time.

  • Personal Holiday A. Each employee may select one personal holiday each calendar year in accordance with the following:

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.
