WORK WEEK - GUARANTEED. (a) An employee who reports for work at the start of the standard work week shall be guaranteed full pay for the balance of the standard work week. The forty-eight (48) hour notice of lay-off provided in the Seniority Section of this Agreement shall take precedence when an employee is laid off on a Thursday. He would work Friday and Monday and by working Monday is not entitled to full pay for that week. (b) If an employee of his own volition does not report for his regular shift or shifts, then his weekly minimum five (5) shift pay base shall be reduced to the number received by subtracting the number of shifts missed from base 5.

(c) The provisions of this section shall not apply in the event of: (i) An emergency such as fire, flood, power failure etc., beyond the control of the control of the company, or if; (ii) An employee voluntarily leaves the work site, quits or is discharged for just cause, or; (iii) Recalls from layoff of five (5) days or less In any such event or circumstance occurring as outlined in (i), (ii) or (iii) above the employee shall be paid for the actual time worked at his applicable wage rate.

The provisions of this Section shall not apply in the event of: i) An emergency such as fire, flood, power failure, etc., beyond the control of the Company, or if: ii) He voluntarily leaves the work site, quits or is discharged for cause, iii) He was previously given forty-eight (48) hours notice as required in Article 9.04 (a). and in any such event or circumstance occurring as outlined in i), ii) or iii) above, he shall be paid for the actual time worked at regular wage rate.

If any General Holiday is observed during such standard work week, then the five (5) shift pay base shall be reduced to the number received by subtracting the number of General Holidays observed from base five (5). If an employee, of his own volition, does not report for his regular shift or shifts, then his weekly minimum five (5) shift pay base shall be reduced to the number received by subtracting the number of shifts missed from base five (5). Subject to Section 16 of this Article and to the daily pay guarantee of this Agreement, any employee who is unable to start or to complete the work week because of sickness or accident, shall only receive pay for the days worked. A recalled employee or new employee who reports for work during a work week shall receive as minimum pay for that week the amount he would earn if he worked the balance of his regular shifts in the week at his normal rate of pay.

Refusal to return to work will not jeopardize the employees right of recall. An employee refusing to return to work will not be discriminated against for doing so.

Should the recall period of work extend beyond four (4) consecutive work days, the senior employee will be offered such additional work. (d) Where no employee is on recall the employer may hire up to one (1) relief employee per location to a maximum of two (2) locations at any one time. A relief employee may work the standard workweek or less for up to two (2) consecutive months at any one time. Where an employee has worked the two (2) consecutive months as referenced in this Article, the relief employee shall not work at any time during the four (4) month period following the lay-off. The relief employee will not be considered a permanent employee and shall receive two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour in lieu of pension and benefits.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • Regular Work Week The regular work week shall be any five (5) consecutive days, Sunday through Saturday, for a total regular work week of forty (40) working hours, subject to the applicable premiums where provided for in this Agreement. Notwithstanding the above, employees may volunteer to work schedules that fall outside of the regular work week of Sunday through Saturday and may do so, upon approval by the Company, and with no penalty cost to the Company, but with applicable premiums as provided for in this Agreement.

  • Basic Work Week ‌ a) The basic work week of an employee working full- time shall be forty (40) hours consisting of five eight hour days; b) Daily hours of work shall be consecutive with the exception of rest and meal periods. No split shifts shall be worked; c) Employees shall not work longer than their regular, scheduled work day, unless requested to do so by Management; in which event, additional time will be paid at applicable regular or overtime rates. Employees are required to leave the store as soon as it is reasonable to do so.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Normal Work Week The normal work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1/2) hours, and the normal daily hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours, exclusive of a meal period. The normal work week shall be Monday through Friday and the normal workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Construction Phase Fee Contractor’s Construction Phase Fee is the maximum amount payable to Contractor for any cost or profit expectation incurred in the performance of the Work that is not specifically identified as being eligible for reimbursement by Owner elsewhere in this Agreement. References in the UGSC to Contractor’s “overhead” and “profit” mean Contractor’s Construction Phase Fee. The Construction Phase Fee includes, but is not limited to, the following items: 9.1 All profit, profit expectations and costs associated with profit sharing plans such as personnel bonuses, incentives, and rewards; company stock options; or any other like expenses of Contractor.

  • Extended Local Calling Scope Arrangement An arrangement that provides a Customer a local calling scope (Extended Area Service, “EAS”), outside of the Customer’s basic exchange serving area.
